Does ExxonMobil Have a New Website?
Article: What is the connection between www.exxonmobil.com and www.exxonmobiljobsonline.com?
Short Answer: None.
Question: Does this "none" mean that www.exxonmobiljobsonline.com is not ExxonMobil's? Yes, it certainly does. UPDATE: Following our official communication with ExxonMobil, the domain www.exxonmobiljobsonline.com has been shut down in December 2007.
Long Answer: This is 2007, and, as much as some people might still refuse to believe, almost anything can be illegally copied, forged, cloned, or stolen, and almost any individual or corporation can be defrauded. Including the world's largest corporation (by revenue): ExxonMobil. Continued below...

On Beware Job Scams we provide very detailed information on how to detect and avoid employment scams; also on that page we have listed a database on known scams (the list is, unfortunately, incomplete since every single day new scammers or fake companies get into "business").
During 2007, Oil Offshore Marine has noticed several new forms of fraud related to the Oil & Gas companies/industry. This is how a fake Shell website looks like, plus the fraud attack on Aker Kvaerner, and the fake Statoil website.
And now here we are, going through a fake ExxonMobil website!
Because yes, www.exxonmobiljobsonline.com is a fake website, where the scammers had stolen ExxonMobil's logo, corporate identity, as well as photos and copyrighed text from www.exxonmobil.com, and illegally used the solen materials on the fake website. Note: the real ExxonMobil is www.exxonmobil.com
Let see exactly why www.exxonmobiljobsonline.com is a fake website:
1. You might ask yourself how come www.exxonmobiljobsonline.com is a hoax, especially since it contains exxonmobil in the site's name. Here you will find the full explanation for this situation, and, to make a long story short, we will just state that mere fact of having a certain name (ie, Microsoft) contained in one or more domain names does NOT automatically mean that the respective domain name(s) belong[s] to Microsoft; therefore, www.microsoftonline.com or www.microsoftjobs.com do not necessarily/automatically belong to Microsoft! 2. If one checks the domain www.exxonmobiljobsonline.com, the following information is gathered. The said domain
was registered on October 4, 2007 (!) by a certain Donna Lozano, 20167 Business Highway 77, Texas. Whilst the said domain could have easily be setup by ExxonMobil on October 4, it is highly unlikely (or better, improbable) that ExxonMobil used Donna Lozano as the Registrant. In other words, had ExxonMobil really registered www.exxonmobiljobsonline.com, the registrant would have been Exxon, and NOT Donna Lozano. But let's leave this aside for several minutes and pretend we didn't check this.
3. Let's check the hompages of both www.exxonmobiljobsonline.com and www.exxonmobil.com. exxonmobiljobsonline.com contains several photos plus stolen text from here; needless to say that ExxonMobil's logo is illegally used. Also, exxonmobiljobsonline.com contains lots of other information copied from exxonmobil.com, information that, in an effort to gain credibility, links back to - you guessed, exxonmobil.com.
See the proofs here (click on the numbers): 1, 2, 3.

4. What about the About Us page from
exxonmobiljobsonline.com? Well, it's full of illegally copied information, and no links whatsoever. See proof no. 4.
And there is even a funny part on this page: the scammers forgot to remove the "This page should include information such as company history; certifications, licenses, insurance, and bonding; awards; the professional experience of the founders or key employees; and other important details not included on other pages. You may want to include a picture of yourself or your staff." when they created (using Microsoft Office Live) this fake website -
exxonmobiljobsonline.com.
See proof no. 5. For comparison, just see the real ExxonMobil's About Us page. Really big difference, right?
5. The contact page is one of a kind on the fake website. www.exxonmobiljobsonline.com/contactus.aspx
simply contains some fields where you are supposed to enter your details; the design is poor and the effect is even poorer. Check proof no. 6. Now take a look at ExxonMobil real Contact page.
6. Now we need your attention. What you will see within seconds is unique: we bet there are 99.99% chances you never saw a similar thing before. Click on number [Proof no.] 7
to view it. What's the catch? It's easy: since the scammers created a fake ExxonMobil website, they thought about trying to gain even more credibility by having this type of information displayed in order to attract more job scam victims by saying "Look on www.exxonmobiljobsonline.com/employment.aspx and you will see we already got visa approvals for several people, so go ahead and send money for your visa and work permit!". Why 99.99% chances? Because not even one good faith, reliable, law-abiding employer will ever post such private information on a public website.
Accordingly, Oil Offshore Marine has proved that
www.exxonmobiljobsonline.com is a fake website, illegally using ExxonMobil's name, logo, photos and text, for fraudulent purposes.
Therefore: The information on ExxonMobil exxonmobiljobsonline.com OR coming from jobapplication@exxonmobiljobsonline.com, +447045727520 is completely false, inaccurate, and misleading. These are all FAKES designed to fool the jobseekers. See above information on REAL ExxonMobil
Oil Offshore Marine has officially informed ExxonMobil about this case. UPDATE: Following our official communication with ExxonMobil, the domain www.exxonmobiljobsonline.com has been shut down in December 2007.
