Safety Case / HSE Advisor = Person who coordinates and participates with risk analysis, and ensuring the environment inspections are carried out during construction phases.
Safety Manager – Oil & Gas = Person who is responsible for the proper coordinating and execution of safety procedures etc. and ensures safety standards are adhered to, reporting on areas where safety is under question. Continued below
SAP Consultant = Person who consults to the Company or those involved (be it financial, operational, logistical or otherwise) on the SAP system, its capabilities and its functions.
SAP Training Specialist = Person who is responsible for devising the SAP training programs and advising the necessary departments of such.
Scaffolder = person erecting and dismantling working platforms that allow workers to access the higher levels of buildings and structures during renovation or maintenance work, and upper levels on new-build projects.
Scheduling Engineer = Person who supervises the schedule development, monitoring, maintenance and recovery plans for projects, supporting project administrative and organizational activities.
Security Personnel = Person(s) who are responsible for the overall security of all facilities (rigs, onshore, ships etc.)
Sedimentologist = Person who processes the geophysical, geochemical, rock and/or seismic data and assesses the geological controls on reservoir quality.
Seismic Crew = Person(s) who are either Geophysicists, Geologists, or any other needed crew within those fields or with the study of seismology, relating to the discovery and/or study of oil fields and wells etc.; also, the Seismic Crew is often divided up between the LAND Crew or the MARINE Crew, respectively.
Seismic Interpretation Specialist = see Geophysicist. Person who is responsible for the reading and interpretation of the Geophysical data specifically.
Seismic Specialist = see Geophysicist
SESAM Structural Engineer = Person responsible for evaluating and understanding the structural needs for offshore engineering analysis, and executes projects to meet these needs using the SESAM system (software developed by the Norwegian DNV - Det Norske Veritas).
Shipbuilding Engineer = Person who analyses, plans and coordinates the shipbuilding engineering operations, working towards better procedures and/or better techniques.
Shipping / Operations Manager = Person who has overall responsibility and delegation of the shipping operations.
Shipyard Inspector = Person who is responsible for the inspecting of the shipyard and ensuring that all health, safety and environmental regulations are adhered to and reporting on the general state of the shipyard.
Site Manager = Person responsible for supervising the day-to-day activities of the work force; also, responsible for planning and reporting on the work schedule; also, responsible for timely completion of the work and ensuring all complies to standards; also, monitoring work against the agreed budget.
Slick Line Specialist = Person responsible for the staff knowledge and training of slick-line (or WireLine) technology as well as providing technical advice to those involved with slickline technology (Slick-line or Wireline technology is used for well intervention).
Slick Line Supervisor = Person responsible for the general oversight of the slick-line (or Wireline) operations and staff involved (Slick-line or Wireline technology is used for well intervention.)
STAAD Structural Engineer / Designer = Person who uses the STAAD Analysis and Design software to evaluate and understand structural needs and execute projects to meet these needs.
Stimulation Engineer = Person who focuses on maximizing well potential through conducting studies on well stimulation applications, with an understanding of reservoir engineering applications.
Stress Engineer = Person responsible for all the technical and administrative aspects of the execution of a project within the scope of stress piping analysis
Structural Design Engineer = Person who ascertains structural needs (offshore and onshore) and creates designs to suit such needs
Structural Engineer - Offshore = Person who understands the overall structural needs and implementation methods, creates efficient plans to fulfill the structural needs and executes those plans
Structural Engineer – Topsides = Person who evaluates and understands the overall structural needs above deck and plans and executes projects to fulfill these needs.
Subsea Controls Engineers = Person who studies the feasibility on developments; also, may undertake or manage the studies sub-contracted to third parties on behalf of the Company.
Subsea Engineer = person involved with any structural engineering taking place beneath the surface of the sea; he designs, builds and installs mechanical systems used under the ocean, such as: underwater pipelines and pumps, transportation equipment, subsea wellheads, offshore drilling rigs.
Systems Engineer = Person who evaluates the overall systems and develops plans and processes to streamline these systems and allow for smoother processes and systems in general.
