I would like to apply for the position of Deckcrew, I feel that I would be well suited to this position because I am proactive, resourceful and self-motivated individual currently looking for a new challenge.
My background is primarily in construction and 4 years in the New Zealand army, I feel that I am particularly suited to this demanding environment that relies on the importance of teamwork and the ability to get along with other people. I understand and follow instructions and to complete tasks given to me unsupervised while being conscious of health and safety of others around me and myself.
I feel that the skills and knowledge I already possess mean that I would be productive and hardworking member of any team. I am flexible with regard to where and when I work, and have the full support of my family in the matter of possible relocation.

Aug 08 Present Seawell Drilling Contractors. (Contract)
Recently promoted to position of Roughneck on the Forties Alpha.
Deck Crew on the East Brae Platform
Duties included Safety Rep for the Drilling Department
Standing in for Two months as Deck Foreman dealing with unloading and back loading supply boats and bulk transfer.
Keeping the Drill Floor supplied with all equipment required to keep drilling ahead with little or no down time.
Filling in Risk Assessments and making sure company guide lines for safe practise are adhered to.
Assisted in the training of new starts to the industry.
Liaise with different departments for their requirements whilst having to prioritize work at different stages of the operation
Dec 07 Aug 08 Transocean Drilling UK (contract)
Duties included being a Fire Team member, Responsible for organising back load for supply vessels. Reliving on the Drill Floor on a daily basis. Helideck crew member responsible for safe operations for crew and inbound and outbound personal.
Responsible for daily safety checks on lifting equipment, also worked as a Shaker Hand.
