I am currently working as a Graduate Engineer at “Fluid Control Research Institute”, Kanjikode (A Govt. of India enterprise with UNDP Assistance).

Work Experience: 1+years

I am working as an Instrumentation Engineer at “M/s FLUID CONTROL RESEARCH INSTITUTE”, Palakkad (dist), Kerala, a Central Government enterprise under Ministry of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises with UNDP assistance, since August 2008 to till date. FCRI, a high-tech fluid Engg. Facility, first of its kind in South East Asia is dedicated to Research & Development in Fluid Flow Measurement & Control Techniques. The institute provides facility towards technological development to the flow product industries and serves as a National Certifying Authority and Quality / Reliability evaluation facility. The institute also conducts training programs in the field of Process Measurements, Flow measurement & Control and related areas for National and International participants.

Responsibilities at FCRI

• Presently assigned as an Instrumentation System Designing Engineer of CNG 250, 50 Bar, PVTt Laboratory Facility in Fluid Control Research Institute.
• Installation and testing of field instruments, J/B wiring, Loop checking and system interfacing of closed loop air test facility and primary standard gravimetric system.

• Calibration & Testing of Flow meters like Turbine Flow Meter, Orifice Plate, Flow Nozzles, Vortex meters, mass flow meters, Electronic turbine flow meter etc and preparation of report for the same.

• Calibration of industrial and custody transfer flow meter with air as medium for use in Natural Gas as per National/International Standards with traceability of measurement.

• Periodic Calibration of our master meters in the Primary Standard Gravimetric System, which is the only facility available in India for Primary Standard Calibration.
• Engineering the instrumentation and upgrades, including preparing specs, P&ID’s, installation drawings and assisting with construction and startup of CNG 250 bar and 50 bar Lab facility.
• Familiar with the usage of HART Communicator, HART compatible devices, GPIB, RS-232, MODBUS protocols etc.
• Familiar with Electronic and Pneumatic Equipments, Analog and Digital Control systems, Data Acquisition System modules, Programmable Logic Controllers, Transmitters, Control Valves and accessories, Relay based control systems, methods and testing of instruments and installation.
• Successfully completed Cv test and Noise test of CCI valve accessories at 20 bar air test facility.
• Carrying out validation and inspection of Coriolis Mass Flow meters in CNG Dispensers for various gas companies
• Implementation of Wet Gas Air Test Facility in HPATF.

• Software development for 15 bar wet gas air test facility.

• Maintenance and troubleshooting of existing Data Acquisition modules including software (LAB VIEW) and hardware.

• Familiar with the usage of flow computer (Flo Boss S600).

• Experience in handling of PLC (Ge Fanuc) based system in CNG250 bar test facility which is the only facility available in India for gravimetric system Calibration of compressed natural gas.
