Report to President & majority owner. Responsible for growing sales revenue with a staff of six. Provide engine power solutions for equipment manufacturers in a variety of market segments (construction equipment, agriculture, forestry, power generation, marine, military).
• Support team’s efforts by organizing top-level technical presentations of engine lines.
• Maintain top-level customer contacts, and advise on long-range system planning.
• Review prospecting activity to determine satisfaction with current engine/supplier and potential new production opportunities. Direct sales reps activity with customer’s engineering departments to determine engine selection, power ratings and engine options, guide prototype testing and application approval process, and instruction of customer/staff.
• Coordinate sales support activities, troubleshoot problem areas, and resolve problems through close cooperation with staff and suppliers. Manage ongoing production orders and delivery of product to customer.

Achievements:
• Significantly grew revenue by increasing sales to existing accounts, getting engines into new products built by existing customers, and selling engines to new customers. Increased gross margins by improving productivity in-house and negotiating cost reductions from key suppliers:

Sold Ford, John Deere, Isuzu and Kubota industrial engines to equipment manufacturers. Prospected to determine satisfaction with current engine and potential new production opportunities; prepared technical presentations of engine lines; worked with prospect’s engineering department to determine engine selection, power ratings and engine options;
oversaw prototype testing and application approval process; and managed production orders and delivery of product to customer.

Achievements:
• Acquired major OEM accounts in key market segments
o Agricultural Irrigation - switched a major manufacturer to John Deere
o Soil compaction - switched a major manufacturer to John Deere
o Ground Support Equipment - assisted OEM in engineering a belt loader around a fully electronic EPA certified Ford V6
o Truck Auxiliary Power Unit - worked with a military genset packager in their shift into civilian markets with a Kubota powered package
o Ice Resurfacing - pioneered diesel power machines with the new Deere Series 250 engine
o Gensets - switched a major packager to John Deere.


INDUSTRIAL DIESEL PRODUCTS INC., Toronto Ontario 1996 to 1998
Sales Representative
Led sales of Lister-Petter industrial engines and generators and a range of engine related products, including Spinner Oil Cleaning Centrifuges, TurboSafe, SpringStarter and the Grid Switch Metal Particle Detector. Sold via ‘pull-through’ sales process, having products included in bid specifications by government agencies, militaries and consulting engineers.

Achievements:
• Inclusion of TurboSafe in the standby power specifications of Public Works Canada and many of Canada's major consulting engineers; and by the Department of National Defence in its standard specifications for air crash tenders and construction equipment.
• Collaborated with Department of National Defence to include TurboSafe on a prototype M113 Armoured Personnel Carrier, powered by a 400 hp Detroit Diesel Series 53 V6.
• Worked with U.S. Army TACOM's Office of Cost Reduction to evaluate TurboSafe for its M113 fleet and other tactical vehicles.
• Assisted GM Diesel Division to retrofit TurboSafe on Light Armoured Vehicles supplied to the Saudi Army National Guard.
• Worked with VSE Corp., Arlington VA, to install Instalub, a pre-start lubrication device, on a prototype over–the-road transport truck for the U.S .Army.
• Developed a world-wide distribution network for TurboSafe.
• Inclusion of Spinner Oil Cleaning Centrifuges and the Spinner CS cleanable full flow filter system in the specification for the Voisey's Bay Mine power plant.
