ROV Superintendent.
In charge of seismic node operations for Seabird Exploration utilising Beck tooling and handling systems.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to,
• Operational procedure writing, approval and implementation,
• Contractual compliance, safety audit compliance and reporting.
• HSSQE control.
• Played a pivotal role in providing the design changes needed to integrate third party equipments and tooling to Fugros core ROVs allowing Fugro to gain the option of a five year contract.

Technip 2006 – 2007.
ROV Systems Supervisor
Responsible for ROV operations onboard Technip vessels engaged primarily in construction and deepwater flexible installation projects including
• Operational control and coordination in addition to ensuring systems integrity and operational capabilities are maintained.
• HSSE ORCA trained assessor.
• Successfully moulded a robust cohesive ROV team from several nationalities of varying skills levels and successfully stemming a very large turnover of staff and forming a core team within the ROV dept.
• Trenching and jetting operations for recovery, cutting and jointing of NEXAN cables and umbilical’s.

Subsea 7 2001 – 2006.
ROV Senior Operations Controller
Working extensively on various construction, flexible flowline and riser installation projects notably BP Thunderhorse and Atlantis deepwater projects.
• Senior Supervisor for Shell [North Sea] annual inspection programmes utilising the Shell Pulsed Eddy Current tooling technologies and associated inspection tooling.
- Fully conversant with the Coabis recording and reporting systems.
- Responsible for work scope planning and implementation, including safety analysis, audits, system mobilisations and demobs.
• Team member in Subsea7s Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) programme, from initial vehicle build through the Research and Development programs, construction phases and harbour/sea trials and ultimately the final commissioning and commercial deployment.
- Project included multiple academic faculty and government agency joint operations.
- Devised the recovery method for Autonomous Vehicle which in addition to considerable cost savings by eliminating capital expenditure also eliminated the need for a manned work boat to be launched for recovery.

Electrical Power Engineering Ltd 2000 – 2001.
Site Manager
Contracted for the CSO Constructor (DSV) conversion electrical work scope carried out at Camel Lairds Shipyard in Newcastle UK.
Position responsibilities included
• Site/ project management of the construction and commissioning teams including, staff recruitment and utilisation.
• Additional remits included materials and equipments specification and design, purchasing, costing and budgetary control, permit authority control and JSAs, Certification authority compliance DNV / Lloyds /MSA / ABS and the final client acceptance/ handover trials.
• During the conversion developed an idea of halting and restarting utilising a different method of jointing midway through a major splicing programme resulted in project programme catch up and on time project completion.
• Devised a system to refurbish ships main generators doing away with the need to dry dock the ship and allowing it to be done during passage resulting in cost/time saving as well as the award of the contract.

Subsea Offshore/ Halliburton Subsea 1997 – 2000
ROV Senior Sub Engineer
Worked on various subsea projects in the North Sea, US/ Mexican Gulf and Middle East regions having joined as a trainee pilot technician.

Electrical Power Engineering Ltd 1993 – 1997
Electrical Field Engineer
Working world wide on Marine and Offshore Installations.
• Role mainly involved vessel upgrades and conversions including DP and Thruster system installations.
• Contracted to the National Grid at its Cellarhead 400kv/132kv substation as Site Manager for site upgrade project [power factor rectification and protection systems].
• Cable and Wireless Electrical Officer.

Contracted to work on the Shell Brent Field installations during the field life extension programme, primarily on power generation and distribution networks. Worksite and senior permit controller worksite trained.
