I am an experienced Manufacturing/Process Engineer and Technical Writer who has recently been NACE CIP Level 2 certified. I am looking for jobs related to Engineering, Technical Writing and Coating Inspection. I am not looking to permanently relocate, but am interested in 1 month on/1 month off (or similar) type schedules. I have equal parts technical know-how and common sense and am willing to learn any job a potential employer needs help at.

2. Work Experience - CV/Resume Part 2 [Mandatory]

Manufacturing Engineer (August 2004 to April 2009)
Brooks Automation: Portland, OR

Duties
• Develop manufacturing methods, labor utilization standards, and cost analysis systems to promote efficient staff and facility utilization
• Plan and establish sequence of operations to fabricate and assemble parts or products and to promote efficiency
• Confer with vendors, staff, and management personnel regarding purchases, procedures, product specifications, manufacturing capabilities, and project status
• Draft and design layout of equipment, materials, and workspace using drafting tools and computer
• Review production schedules, engineering specifications, orders, and related information to obtain knowledge of manufacturing methods, procedures, and activities
• Communicate with management and user personnel to develop production and design standards
• Confer with customer representatives, vendors and plant executives to establish technical specifications and to determine subject material to be developed for publication
• Review published materials and recommend revisions or changes in scope, format, content, and methods of reproduction and binding


Accomplishments
• Increased manufacturing efficiency by perform studies and calculations to determine manufacturing processes, staff requirements, and production standards and then recommending methods for improving utilization of personnel, material, and utilities
• Helped decrease work instruction documentation creation time from approximately 2 weeks to 3 days

Process Engineer (June 2000 to June 2001)
Triquint Semiconductor: Hillsboro, OR.

Duties
• Responsible for all coat track and bulk develop sink processes
• Manage all aspects of engineering including regular trouble-shooting and programming of coat and develop tracks; this involved qualifying new lots of photo resist and developer, as well as reduction of coat and develop caused rework
• Worked with engineering to institute new coat and develop programs
• Used SPC to maintain baseline lithography processes
• Wrote recipes for conversion of 100mm process to 150mm process
• Worked with track manufacturers to improve wafer handling on brittle GaAs substrates
• Disposition of wafers for coat defects
• Participated on a team to reduce coat defect caused rework using Pareto analysis to identify leading causes
• Gave regular reports on reduction of reworks, coat defects, current projects, and general information pertaining to coat and develop processes during weekly team meetings
• Listened to team members’ reports and helped to make suggestions for improvements in their processes in order to contribute to the overall success of the team.

Accomplishments
• Improved chemical inventory levels and successfully avoided a previously common problem of running out of certain chemicals by developing an Access database designed for tracking chemical usage and status
• Successfully reduced develop time by implementing and documenting a change from a track spray process to a bulk bath process
