The background behind my application is a technical and business management education with 15 years of leadership experience on various organizational levels. I am used to working for a large organization and taking on the responsibilities involved.
My experience up till now entails that I am used to simultaneously handling a number of different tasks such as planning, coordinating, and motivating in a way that the management and the blue collar employees, as well as various interest groups, feel that they are working to reach realistic overall objectives. Furthermore, I am accustomed to do my best in an often hectic and stressful environment and to plan and come up with the best solutions within specific time spans.
I have good cooperation skills and I am an experienced team leader, and have no problem with decision-making. I have also been in charge of safety on the yard.
As a person, I am a very stable, flexible and engaged employee with a lot of resources and great energy. I always go to the greatest possible length to find the best solutions and I also possess great patience and human insight, as well as a good sense of humor which often turns out to be the resolving element. It is important to me to have fun while executing my tasks, but only to the limit that does not jeopardize the quality of my work.
Cooperation through all organizational levels comes to me naturally, and I am used to having a great responsibility and to have a good overview of what is going on. Senior General Manager – Dock Area

• General Manager for the managing of production on 6 plants incl. budget responsibility.
• Personnel manager for 1400 blue-collar employees and 85 white-collars.
• Responsible for contracts with subcontractors.
• Close cooperation and salary negotiations with the trade union.
• Reduced sickness absence with 15% within one year.
• Has worked in cooperation with a consultant company for 18 months and managed to save 138 mills. on operations and budget in my area of responsibility.
• Responsible for construction and delivery of ships to our clients, moreover head of sea trials. Introduction of key performance indicators, in other words, finding and measuring the areas which are important to focus on.
• Responsible for the name giving ceremony of the new ships.
• Uncovering the organisation’s resources and, subsequently, making changes and adjustments.
• Holding courses for the management group with a focus on cooperation and a better understanding of the organisation as a whole.
• Yearly performance appraisals.
• Teaching of group values.
• Introducing automatic welding in the area.
• Responsible for safe working conditions on all plants.
• Responsible for quality control on all plants in relation to the international standards and classification associations.
• Responsible for respecting the environmental regulations/laws, for example dealing with and handling oil and chemicals.
• Budgeting and forecasting.
• Financial and business management reporting.
• Review of business processes and procedures.
• Manage month end reporting.


2000 - 2006 General Manager

• Responsible for the management and the production of the plant, where we produce ship sections with up to 900 tons. Budget responsibility for 175 mills. /year.
• Responsibility for a staff of 375 blue-collars and 20 white-collars.
• Responsible for contracts with subcontractors, ca. 20 mill. /year.
• Restructuring in connection with the reorganisation and development of production. The organisational development involved the uncovering and adjustment of the management on the level of foremen.
• Organisational development. Self organized groups.

• Member of cooperation committee.
• Yearly performance appraisals.
• Responsible for safe working conditions on the plant.
• Hiring and dismissal of employees.
• Responsible for quality control on the plant.


1997 - 2000 Manager of planning

• Preparation of production.

• Responsibility for purchase, tools, working clothes, etc. 50 mill. Yearly budget.
• Coordination of all transport.
• Leader of the everyday morning meeting with the management group and subcontractors, altogether approx. 25 people.
• Substitute for the plant manager.

• Managing of the daily operations.

I have good conflict solving skills and I do not postpone the difficult conversations, instead I try to find the solutions immediately. I have experience with negotiating and also with solving conflicts with the trade unions.
The success should be shared with the organisation and for the less successful results I, as a manager, take responsibility.
I tend to have success with my projects but I stay calm and keep focused also when things take an unexpected turn.
