CV/Resume Details

1. Summary (Cover Letter) - CV/Resume Part 1 [Mandatory]

From my cv you will see that I have held senior positions in the training and personnel development field with increasing responsibility. In addition I have aircraft maintenance engineer experience at technician and chief engineer level. I am a trained company Aviation Safety Officer (CASO) and have provided comprehensive safety training.
I have aviation operational experience in both military and civilian environments.

I am currently providing training for the 5000+ security screening staff needed for the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympic Games for Contemporary Security Canada.

My last position was as Director/Head of Training & Licensing for CHC Helicopters, where I set up and ran the CHC Training Centre; responsible for the development and delivery of all training except flight training; I held this position for 8 years.
I carried out training needs analyses, identified and determined the training required for all the various positions within the Company. I designed and delivered leadership/management training for existing and potential managers; Developed/designed/ or outsourced training as needed. Recruited and trained an instructional staff and training support staff.
Developed and was responsible for competency assessments of the technical field crews (aircraft maintenance and operations).
Responsible for personnel development and mentored students taking outside courses such as CGA and university courses. Designed and delivered career development training for our overseas locally hired personnel to ensure an eventual transition to having more local staff in senior positions.
Set up, trialed and ran the Learning Management/Learning Content Management System in cooperation with a third party LMS provider and host. Designed and built an on-line training records system. Liaised with third party service providers and customers.
Responsible for budget and the development of third party training contracts that brought in revenue.
By bringing most of the training in-house (I had 9 instructors and 6 staff) I saved the company significant expenditure.
I have considerable coaching, course development and instructional experience and ran change management and conflict resolution courses.
I have significant Occupational Safety and Health training and standards related experience, I developed and delivered safety courses that are applicable to many industries including oil and gas and construction.
Prior to CHC I was Chief Instructor in the BCIT Aerospace training programmes. There I assisted the graduating students to prepare for job hunting and interviews.
Served in the British Army for 20 years as an aircraft technician among other duties.

I have recently set up my own training consultancy but there will be no conflict with that and this position and in the event that I am chosen for this position the company would run at arms length or placed in stasis.
