1. Summary (Cover Letter) - CV/Resume Part 1 [Mandatory]

Dear Sir/Madam

I am writing in support of my application for the position of Production Operator/ Operation
Trainee.

I have recently completed a level three City and Guilds in Petroleum Processing Technology
through Opito, i also have a valid offshore medical certificate and British offshore survival
certificate.

As evidenced by my current and previous employment positions, i have gained experience
within industrial operations, and i am aware of the requirements both statutory and company
to ensure safe and efficient operations in my area of responsibility.

Although i have no current offshore experience, i feel that the skills i have acquired throughout
my previous and current employments would transfer well to an offshore environment and
hopefully make a useful contribution to your operations team.

2. Work Experience - CV/Resume Part 2 [Mandatory]

Presently employed at S.G.L. Technic as a Process Operator, a global organization with an annual turn over of 1.6 billion euros, producing carbon fiber and carbon graphite for industries such as energy, automobile, NASA and the aerospace industry. Daily tasks include the safe running of all plant, monitoring and reacting to any variations of the plant which may lead to an emergency situation, the slow heating process of the pre-curser material (a by product of crude oil) from 180 degrees up to 1400 degrees through large natural gas powered ovens and then nitrogen sealed low and high temperature furnaces, monitoring nitrogen flow through sight glasses and hand controlled valves to maintain the correct atmosphere and conditions within the furnace. Also the monitoring and control of a R.T.O. (recirculating thermal oxidizer ) system which is used to clean up the hydrogen cyanide gas given off by the process before being turned into the final raw carbon fiber product. Working under a strict quality control system which requires us to meet the I.S.O. 9000 aerospace standard. Maintaining high standard of house keeping throughout your area of responsibility.


Employment history:

August 2008 to present day: S.G.L. The Carbon Company

Presently employed at S.G.L. September 2006 to November 2007: Benhamgoodheadprint

(B.G.P.) Stones the printers. Working for one of Europeís largest printing companies. Working as part of a seven man team on 3x12 continental shift pattern, with a unlimited overtime option, operating 4, 10 colour perfecting Heidelberg 102 presses, at around a cost of 2 million pound each, daily tasks include producing high quality, high volume print runs to a dead line, and over seeing ink and water levels are kept at a constant to ensure consistent colour control throughout the print run. Also all scheduled maintenance i.e. Replacing cylinder jackets, rubber blankets ink form rollers, all oil and greasing of the presses and general tidiness on the print room floor.


August 2000 to 2006: A4 design and print:

Working as Print Foreman on the print room floor over seeing all jobs are met to a deadline and are to a high quality, daily tasks include running 5 different Heidelberg presses and working as a 4 man team, and providing all training to junior operators, also all planned maintenance and over seeing the safe working conditions are kept on the print room floor.


April 1996 to August 2000 and February 2008 to August 2008: Dingwall printers:

Operating small ryobi 32 ryobi 500k ryobi 510 numbering and perforating, ryobi 522 two colour and hashimoto b2 2 colour perfector. Daily tasks include printing full colour magazines, leaflets and brochures, plus all maintenance required.


June 1995 to 1996: Morrison Print:

Operating small presses with numbering and perforating, daily tasks include spot colour printing i.e. letterheads, business cards and also plate making and general maintenance of the press.


3. Education & Training - CV/Resume Part 3 [Mandatory]

Recently finished a level 3 city and guild in petroleum processing technology and now looking to put the theory into practice.

Level 3 City and Guilds in Petroleum Processing Technology (Opito).
Self funded 10 module course of which I have completed and passed all 10 exams which consist of-

Oil and Gas separation - Credit
Gas Dehydration - Credit
Petroleum Gas compression - Credit
Natural Gas Liquids Recovery - Pass
Oil Pumping and metering - Pass
Injection water Treatment - Distinction
Produced water treatment - Distinction
Gas flow Measurement - Pass
Process flow and P&IDís - Pass
Oil treatment (Dehydration) - Credit

I also have a current offshore medical certificate and have recently completed my Basic Offshore Induction and Emergency training including E.B.S. for the U.K. sector and Additional Basic Safety Training for the Norwegian Sector.

In any situation i excel in creating professional relationships and belief i have outstanding communication skills, work well in

my willingness to learn and improve in all the aspects of the production technicians role including any Heath and safety
requirements and my present role is giving me process experience which i hope will transfer we'll and i hope i can make a useful
contribution to your production team.
