A Merchant Navy Senior Engineering Officer applying multi-skilled, general engineering, electrical and workshops abilities, that has ensured efficient operations to technical and to a senior managerial level within the merchant navy / cruise industry. Now capable, qualified and looking to make a continued, significant contribution within the oil, gas and petrochemical industry.

2. Work Experience - CV/Resume Part 2 [Mandatory]

2008 – Date, ENGINE ROOM OPERATOR /2nd ENGINEER
Seadrill Limited
First half year I was at the SHI ship yard in South-Korea, for the commissioning period of the drill ship West Cappella
After delivery of the vessel I have been serving as a duty Engineer. Carried out daily inspections of the engine room and associated control systems.
Responsible for operation and maintenance of diesel generators and associated equipment.
Also responsible for overhaul and inspection of main engine components and checking parts are within manufacturers tolerances as and when they are exchanged. These could be Pistons, cylinder heads, exhaust valves, fuel injection equipment etc.
As well as maintenance on other running equipments such as: Ulstein aquamaster, Tamrotor compressors, Kangrim auxiliary boilers, Alfalaval purifiers


2006 – 2008, CHIEF ENGINEER
Seabourn Cruise Line
Totally responsible of the technical department and equipment onboard the vessel, Reporting to the fleet superintendent
Preparation of Dry-docking lists
Make sure that the vessel has correct amount and available of spares.
Ensured safe, reliable, efficient and cost-effective operations, whilst maintaining and repairing vessels including technical installations, whilst ensuring vessels stay on schedule.
Necessary repair and service, from shore, for all equipment, except navigation and communication systems.
Planned coastal work within tight schedules, oversaw shore-side work crews for specialized work. Also coordinated landing of goods for repair and delivery of spares and consumables
Reporting to office on machinery related matters
Follow up and ensure proper filling of purchase order and spare parts requisition forms.
Follow up on all Class related matters within his justification.
Ensure proper recording of the Engine Log Book and Oil Record Book for Machinery Spaces.
Coordinate and follow up the Electrician’s routines, maintenance and daily work.
Responsible for the upkeep of the Ship Planned Maintenance System.


2002 – 2006, FIRST ENGINEER / ASSISTANT CHIEF ENGINEER
Seabourn cruise line
Totally responsible for routine and ad hoc maintenance plus the efficient running of the engine room and deck machinery, including boilers, pumps, compressors, air conditioning and refrigeration plant, generators, M/E injection equipment and diesel propulsion engines. Reporting to the Chief Engineer.
Managing engine rooms with developed experience in many areas including, medium and high speed diesel engines, as well as the auxiliary machinery and associated equipment
In charge of generators, purifiers, compressors, fuel transfer, maintenance of main engine and auxiliary machinery.
Supervised engineers’, ratings’ and teams’ daily working plans / routines and watch rotas.
Planned and coordinated daily maintenance and repair activities as required.
Monitored and optimized stock levels. Carrying out annual stock-takes and budgets.
Examined the condition of tanks and related equipment (Fuel, Lubrication Oil, and Sludge tanks).
Motivated engineers and crew, and created / maintained a safe working environment.
Optimum utilization of resources allocated, including work plans and overtime.
Key roles: supervised a work crew during critical Main Engine as well as other maintenance activities.


97 – 02, SECOND ENGINEER
Seabourn legend and Royal Caribbean Cruise line
As a Duty Engineer Bringing vessel in and out of port. Carried out daily inspections of the engine room and associated control systems including the steering gear.
Responsible for operation and maintenance of auxiliary engine plant and associated equipment. Also responsible for overhaul and inspection of main engine components and checking parts are within manufacturers tolerances as and when they are exchanged. These could be Pistons, cylinder heads, exhaust valves, fuel injection equipment etc.
In charge of control and transfer of sludge operations onboard and discharge of sludge to shore facilities.
Guided and trained subordinate Cadet Engineers and Fourth Engineers.
