Asset Management of inspection Dept (covering all SHELL/AFPC oil/gas fields in Syria) 1316
Vessels and Tanks, 1850 Pressure Safety Valves, 299 oil/gas wells, 5 Central Processing
facilities, 34 Field Stations
Duties inclusive of inspection of oilfield equipment and plant, typically storage tanks, Pressure
Vessels, flow lines and oil and gas transfer lines.
Responsible for detailing vessel service condition and advising on serviceability, repair
methods and re-instatement procedures in accordance with the following codes of practice
API-653 Storage tanks inspection and repair
API 510 Pressure vessel inspection and repair
API 570 Piping systems inspection and repair
Maintaining and developing vessel and inspection database information scheduling
inspection requirements and recording vessel histories
Directly involved with progressing the RBI (risk based inspection) program and undertaking
comprehensive on stream ultrasonic corrosion surveys of vessels and calculating redundancy
and inspection frequencies using computer programs to calculate MAOP and Minimum Allowable
wall thickness of vessels and pipelines in accordance with ASME VIII, ANSI B.31.3 /B31.4 /B31.8.

External & Internal inspection of shell, annular plate, bottom plate, sacrificial anodes, roof plates, purling, rafters etc. Verifying peaking/ banding/ deformation on shell, evaluation of pitting, evaluation of allowable deformation on bottom plate, verifying and consulting with integrity engineers regarding settlement readings. Verifying the results of MFL on bottom plate and recommendation for patch plate welding. Verifying the results of NDT, review of external UT inspection report, Witness of repair on shell plate. Review of test packages, inspection of coating, determination of next inspection frequency, Documentation of storage tanks etc,


a. Internal & external inspection of columns:
Inspection of trays, down comers, bubble caps, distributor piping, NDT inspection of weld
joints, Vortex breaker, Impingement plates, review of UT reports, Minimum thickness
evaluation, determination of inspection frequency, evaluation of pitting, external inspection of
head, shell, nozzles, Corrosion under insulation, Preparation of inspection reports with
recommendations, coordinating with integrity engineers regarding repairs, review of repair
procedures, coordinating with maintenance & operation, review of test packages and its
approval/final acceptance etc.

b. Internal & external inspection of heat exchangers:
Internal & external inspection of floating head type exchangers, U tube exchangers, fixed tube
exchangers, Fin fan exchangers, review of remote filed eddy current testing reports, boro-scope
inspection of tubes, evaluating minimum allowable thickness, witness of hydro test on shell
side & tube side, plugging of leaking tubes, review of WPS / WQT records, water quality used
In test, etc.

c. Internal & external inspection of vessels:
Internal and external inspection of vessels like Suction scrubbers, suction dampers, flash separators, bulk separators, knock out drums, air receivers, Chemical storage vessel. Inspection of internal parts like demisters, schopentetor, vortex breakers, NDT of weld joints, pitting evaluation, coating inspection etc.


Inspection & testing of pressure relieving devices as per the requirements of API-576 and
signing of test certificates.

Project : OMAN REFINERY COMPANY Turn Around Shut Down

Inspection of static equipment like heat exchangers, boilers, furnaces, vessels,
towers, columns, PSV’s, etc.
Responsible for total Co-ordination of all QA/QC and NDT activities in the Plant Shut- Down
Including execution, monitoring to complete the Test Packs, Preparation and submission of
Total test packs for Final clearance and Clients approval.

Aug 26th 2005 to July 13th 2006
Position : Static Equipment Inspector

General purpose of Job:
Monitors and assesses integrity of Pipelines/Equipments and issues recommendations to
Improve overall equipment reliability.
Essential duties and Responsibilities:
· Ensures reliability of static Equipments (Pressure vessels,columns,Storage tanks, heat ex-changers,
· piping, Power boilers, furnaces, safety and relief valves etc) in the Refinery at all times by frequent
· monitoring and assessment and by utilizing various non-destructive testing techniques.
· Responsible for supervision and certification of all maintenance related repair works of static equip.-
ments and piping in the Refinery.
· Conducts incoming materials inspection and verifies all materials meet the min.requirements of app. –
· ropriate code of construction.
· Prepares and evaluates tender documents related to inspection activities.
· Prepares and issues detailed inspection reports of findings, repair works done with recommendation
Of all stationery equipments & piping.
· Establishes, maintains and updates a variety of computerized data records utilizing special data
· Management soft ware programs.
· Generation of T&I wordlist.
· Fabrication and Maint/repair inspection. At workshop & plant, inspection of welds.
