Responsible to: Unload material from truck by hand or with hand operated or motorized equipment. Inspect items, as to quality and quantity against freight documents. Unpack incoming goods and wrap / pack outgoing goods. Shelve, store and distribute materials. Enter data and edit stock orders in a computerised inventory system. Clear work area. Assign work to lower level employees and review work for accuracy and completeness. Provide instructions and training in the proper methods to carry our assignments. Review job performances of worders by observing work techniques. Replace deliveryman when necessary which included handling and depositing of daily cash. To make sure that the Company cars are kept in good condition. For a period of time I have been put in charge to shift stores to a new warehouse which was successfully completed. Responsible for all stores and stores staff. For the last six months I havge been responsible for receiving, checking and distributing of 60 containers, which gave me the opportunity to involve myself more in the shipping department.

I was firstly employed as a Head Storekeeper within the Company where my duties were to organise the store and build up a computerised stock record system. I had to make sure that all material was delivered to sites on time. Train storekeepers how to identify and inspect material. Planning and coordinating to schedule deliveries of incoming stock. After six months I accepted a promotion to a Logistics Mananger. My duties involve monitoring the quality, quantity, cost and efficiency of the movemnt and storage of goods. Liaising and negotiating with customers and suppliers. Developing business by gaining new contracts. Preparing tender costs, documents and literature. Purchasing of material for Governmental Projects and for the Private market. Evaluate suppliers based on cost, quality, service and availability. Examine catalogues, commerce publications and directories in order to find the right suppliers. Prepare shipping documents and communicate with shipping companies. Corresponding with suppliers including keeping up with deadlines and delivery dates.
