1. Summary (Cover Letter) - CV/Resume Part 1 [Mandatory]

Experienced painter / decorator/ coater of 25 yrs who is available for an immediate start and has a wide range of experience in all aspects of the construction industry. Knowledge and practical experience on the various techniques available for surface preparation, blasting and mechanical methods including dust-free and recyclable options. Applied a range of coatings and composites by means of conventional airless, manual brush or roller applications appropriate to meet the industry quality standards. Qualified rope access at level 1 looking at working up to level 3. Now looking to continue painting and blasting / rope access / water jetting / confined space entry within the onshore / offshore industry.

2. Work Experience - CV/Resume Part 2 [Mandatory]

Past experience of grit / shot blasting to SA2.5 (blast pot, cabinet, and blast room). Examples of blasting experience include: trawlers, vessels, cranes, winches, containers etc on Fleetwood docks and surrounding areas, using abrasives such as chilled iron/ steel grit, aluminum oxide, copper slag and garnet; also usage of needle gunning and use of compressed air / tools. Basic electrical and plumbing.

Also certified and experienced in confined space/ vessel entry, use of gas monitoring equipment and escape breathing apparatus, use of access equipment including harness, tripod and winch system.

Access / regress and vertical tower climbing of wind turbines in an offshore marine environment using twin lanyard fall arrest systems. Work positioning work with cat’s tail lanyard on turbine / ladders / platforms with over 120 IRATA workface hours logged performing daily tasks of guano cleaning by means of manual and water jetting practices, surface preparation by mechanical process, re-coating of prepared areas and wet paint film testing. Daily use and recording of atmospherical conditions by means of whirling psychrometer instrumentation equipment for accurate measurement of temperatures, and also to establish air humidity levels and dew point temperatures (wet & dry air bulb tests). Use of an Anemometer for recording of wind speeds and direction.

Extensive experience and a proven record of continuously improving efficiencies and operations, environmental, health and safety and performance. Usage of industrial and commercial equipment.

In past supervisory roles my responsibilities were such that I have been a member of several teams responsible for staffing personal on a daily basis, location / signing in / out procedures, incident reporting protocols, health & Safety, risk assessments, statements forms, non-conformance forms, quality control, safe systems of work, staff training matrix sheets, as well as internal audit reports that met with the requirements of ISO 9001: 2000 and MOODY INTERNATIONAL

When this was applied in practice, a step - by - step approach was adopted in preparing the assessments and deciding what needs to be assessed and conducting the assessment in relation to generic, specialized and

Psychological risks along with maintenance activities and contractors followed by communication with the employees in achieving consistency and a commitment to continual improvement.

It is an area of essential education and written procedures that I find thoroughly enjoyable and rewarding.

I am also qualified and experienced in the use of High Pressure and Ultra High Pressure water jetting ( blue card status) and HP & UHP surface cleaning & preparation ( bronze card status) using pencil jet, fan jet and barracuda’s up to and including working pressures of 30.000 psi with the Water Jetting Association

I am a single 41 yr old, non smoker with no dependants who is looking to expand his knowledge of painting / blasting systems and is wishing to pursue a long standing career with a company, either in British / European waters or internationally.

I am physically fit, punctual, reliable, motivated and able to work enthusiastically under pressure, either within a team or alone and unsupervised. I am a straightforward, positive and fair person with a friendly disposition and a good sense of humour who does not mind being away from home for long periods of time.

I have a willingness to learn new skills and training, have high moral standards and who is also well-balanced and controlled.

My aim is to find employment in an environment with high standards and productivity. Ideally I would like to gain employment within my trade as a painter/ blaster; blaster/ painter; however I am willing to start in a lower position or a different area using my other transferable skills of rope access, confined space entry, water jetting, maintenance operative / Health & Safety / risk assessments.
