CV/Resume Details
1. Summary (Cover Letter) - CV/Resume Part 1 [Mandatory]

I am a professional engineer with over 35 year experience in projects, programmes and other processes and utilisation of marine construction and survey vessels required for offshore oil and gas developments, with experience of both new build and brownfield work.

Regarding new build scope my experience ranges feed through detailed design, procurement, fabrication, construction, survey, commissioning and handover, in compliance with national governmental and international requirements together with classification and certification authority approvals.

Concerning brownfield works - although similar in many ways to new build - have very much in applying required approaches regarding "as is" integrity of existing infrastructures and clear understanding of the operational practices and procedures when carrying out work on operational facilities.

Holistic risk analysis therefore is the follow on key element in carrying out any type of brownfield works in offshore assets safely and cost effectively.

My major inputs and contributions have been in design constructability, construction methodology, and contractor supervision internationally accepted codes of practice during development works (e.g. IMCA) plus associated HSE and risk management functions.

Generic experience and exposure to scheduling, commercial, quality and procurement functions, together with VIP (Value Improvement processes) have been acquired on they way along.

Have also diversified when required to the civil and defence industries during oil industry downturn periods hence building a very broad experience portfolio in engineering generally.

Have worked on both the client and contractor sides of the equation.

More recent positions held have been generally as Senior Discipline Engineer, package co-ordinator or Construction Manager / supervisor.

Activities covered include subsea pipelines, flow lines, risers umbilicals, power distribution cables, control systems, and subsea containment and protection structures and lastly landfall works for cables and pipelines.

Jacket and topside fabrication and heavy lift installation is also included in my portfolio.

Also have gained considerable experience and expertise in the application of information technology to the activities noted above.
