| 1. Summary (Cover Letter) - CV/Resume Part 1 [Mandatory] |
Dear Sir/madam,
I am writing to enquire if you have any job vacancies for offshore technicians or engineers.
I worked for UTEC Survey ltd based in Lowestoft. The company went bankrupt recently without notice.
I was employed as an engineer, my main duties included:
1) Frontline repair, setting up, maintenance & operation of onboard equipment.
2) Analogue data acquisition using sidescan (klien, SES), pinger, boomer & sparker system’s.
3) Digital data acquisition using TTS & SEAL system.
4) Environmental using camera system & various grabs.
5) Geotechnical using CPT, vibro-corer & drop corer.
6) Admin/lead engineer involved liaising with party chief, running of dept/team & engineering dept paperwork.
Current offshore medical & sea survival (3 day @ PETANS).
A few in house training courses covering the most used equipment onboard.
Since leaving school I have obtained the following qualifications:
1) HND in electrical/electronic engineering (BTEC).
2) National diploma in electronics for technicians (City & Guilds).
Even though I have been a survey engineer for the last 2 years I would like to be considered for your company as I feel being multi disciplined is of benefit to me & my employer. I am confident that my broad engineering background (including basic instrumentation & control/switchgear) will be an asset as I do wish to work offshore long term. I am willing to travel /relocate depending on what vacancies your company believes I would be suitable for.
Due to me being unemployed I have undertaken a distance learning course to obtain my 2330 electrician qualification. This course wouldn’t affect my ability to work offshore.
