Systems Engineer (Offshore)
Currently appointed to undertake fault diagnosis, rectification and testing of offshore survey equipment. This role involves extensive travel abroad, often at short notice and the ability to overcome problems with limited resources. Role includes following elements:
Maintenance, Installation, Operation and removal of multibeam, usbl, sidescan, Gyro compass, Video Ray ROV, Winches, Beacons, Sound Velocity Profilers and camera systems worldwide (Offshore/Inshore/Land based).
Fault Diagnosis, rectification and testing of all equipment as required and to component level where necessary. Utilising Oscilloscope, Multimeter, Megga, Signal Generator, Software based testing and specialist termination tooling.
Produce written daily progress reports whilst on site and give training to others when required.
Undergo continuous training on the latest equipment as required.
Deliver/receive toolbox meetings in accordance with local procedures before and after operations.

Primarily responsible for the correct operation, deployment, recovery and overall maintenance of data acquisition equipment on board a survey vessel.
Efficient diagnosis of any arising faults to effect rapid repairs to a high quality and minimise down time.
Setting up windows based acquisition software for optimum performance.
Ensuring toolbox meeting are undertaken prior to any engineering activities.
Undertake any other tasks as required by the ships crew or party chief.
ROYAL AIR FORCE - 1998 -Present
Required to undertake fault diagnosis, rectification and testing of Avionic systems fitted to Multi-Engine and Fast Jet military aircraft. In addition, undertaking routine aircraft servicing and maintenance in accordance with technical publications.
Removal and replacement of avionic & electrical equipments, deep stripping and rebuilding of all electrical & avionic systems including the embodiment of modifications.
Carry out defect rectification and testing on a wide range of Avionic Equipment including Navigation Platforms, Communications (HF/VHF/UHF), Acoustics, Instrumentation and Pneumatic systems.
Perform aircraft servicing as directed by Manager.-
Liaise with clients to ascertain fault conditions and decide on possible causes / solutions.
Ensure strict observation of health and safety policies when undertaking any maintenance tasks.
Monitor condition and serviceability of all test equipment and arrange replacements with internal/external agencies if found unserviceable.
Committed to the development of inexperienced technicians by sharing knowledge and experience.
Undertake self supervision tasks as directed by team leader.
Responsible for daily vehicle inspection and documentation.
Clear and accurate completion and control of aircraft documentation.
