CV/Resume Details
1. Summary (Cover Letter) - CV/Resume Part 1 [Mandatory]
Sir/Madam
I would be most interested in any position available in the Marine Mechanical Department that may be available with your company that you feel I may be qualified for.
I am a Marine Engineer with 3rd Class Certification. I have worked for approximately 30 years in the Marine and Mechanical fields. Over the years I have developed additional skills in Trouble Shooting, Welding and Electrical, to mention a few. I am a firm believer in the preventative approach to maintenance.
My most recent position was as Mechanic/Chief Mechanic onboard The Drilling Rig Shell Kulluk in the Canadian Beaufort Sea. My duties here were to organize and oversee the refurbishment of the rig equipment as well as the day to day maintenance of the entire Rig.
In the past I have worked with many different types of diesel engines, pumps, compressors, drive trains, power supply systems and hydraulic systems. I have worked with as well as supervised others during the different phases of overhauling the various systems found in the Marine field. During my time spent on offshore drilling rigs I have had the opportunity to work on some of the various tools used down hole as well as top side. With the considerable experience I have gained, I am very confident I would be an asset to your company.
I trust that my detailed resume and excellent references will convince you to consider me for any available opportunity. I look forward to meeting with you to discuss how I may be of service to your company.
Since graduating Marine Diesel Mechanics In 1978 I have had approximately;
3 year as Rig Mechanic
4 years as Motorman onboard several different drilling rigs
3 years as Mechanic onboard seismic vessels
3 years as Second Engineer onboard offshore supply vessels, 2 years as Third Engineer
3 years as Third Engineer onboard a deep sea cable layer
4 years as Second Engineer Provincial Ferry service
4 years as Second Engineer onboard Factory Freezer Trawlers
1 year as Oiler onboard Canadian Coast Guard Vessels
1 year as Mechanic in the Rental Industry
During this time I have worked approximately 8 years onboard DP vessels
I have also worked as Chief Engineer and relief Chief Engineer onboard several different Tugs.
Last contract was Chief Rig Mechanic onboard CDU Kulluk in the Canadian Arctic
Presently I have a Third Class Motor Certificate.
