MOBILINK GSM (An Orascom Telecom Company)
(January 2005 to date)

Working as a BSS Support Team Engineer in a multi vendor and largest cellular company in Pakistan with hands on experience on Motorola BSS (BSC/XCDR/BTS) equipment. The main responsibility is to provide technical support to O&M team on all the BSS issues
Other responsibilities include:
• Providing Level-II support regarding the BSS issues to the level-I on field O&M team.
• Supervision of installation, commissioning and integration of new BSC/XCDR/Sites with the existing network and monitoring its stats.
• Performing new BSC cutovers, BSC reparenting from one MSC to another, BSC standardizations, BSS software/hardware upgrades , Sites re parenting etc
• Giving on field support in case BSC/XCDR etc goes down.

• Events analysis by getting raw events from NOC and processing it to analyze different events of BSS (BSC/XCDR/BTS) on daily basis, preparing lists of different issues such as radio events, IAS events, EAS events etc, forwarding recommendations to level-I O&M team for resolution of the issues, keeping follow up and maintenance of the data base on daily basis. Giving on field support in case the issue is not resolved by level-I team.
• Stats analysis by getting raw career/cell stats from NOC and processing them to get cell and career statistics on daily basis. Analyzing different KPIs of the network such as CSSR,DCR,HSR,IHOSR etc and other stats and forwarding the recommendations on problematic stats to level-I O&M team, keeping follow up and maintenance of the data base on daily basis. Giving on field support in case the issue is not resolved by level-I team.
• Analyzing different reports such as down DRI, radio events, stats analysis, zero calls, RSL downtime, daily down BTS sites etc reports from NOC, PB and other daily issues reports by optimization, hardware failure and events analysis report from Motorola and forwarding the recommendations to level-I O&M team for the resolution. Giving on field support in case the issue is not resolved by level-I team.
• Following up on issues related to other departments such as deployment, optimization, cell planning etc and Coordination with different departments such BSS planning, NOC, optimization, NSS, Cell planning etc for the projection and resolution of different BSS issues.
• Providing 24/7 BSS support to level-I O&M team for resolution of different issues.
• NOC configuration Experience from July 2008 to till date.

MSC integration Project
• Successfully conducted integration projects of four MSCs of Mobilink GSM. The responsibilities include giving technical support on all the BSS related activities. The activities include re parenting of existing BSCs from other MSCs to new MSC and commissioning /cutover of new BSCs/XCDRs.
BSC/XCDR health check project
• Successfully conducted the health check of all the BSC/XCDR of north region. The project included all the detailed check of all the hardware as well as software features of the BSS entities.

Special Project
• BSC Migration to new MSC’s and monitoring its behavior and all on field support to restore its service back to normal incase of issue.
• Event Analysis on daily basis to analyze the factor of No-Audio in the Network.
• Incase of CSSR degradation of BSC, monitoring its stats and provide recommendations to restore back to normal.
