CV/Resume Details
1. Summary (Cover Letter) - CV/Resume Part 1 [Mandatory]

I worked as a mechanical fitter for over 10 years, including offshore where I carried out mechanical repairs, installations and fault finding. I am currently working as a field services technician which allows me to work in several petrochemical sites, one of which is Ineos. I am used to working in a high risk environment with hazardous materials, HSE requirements and permit to work system. I have worked on static and rotating machinery including pumps, compressors, gearboxes and piping. I use air, electric and hand tools for cutting, grinding and finishing and I can weld mild, carbon and stainless steel. I am Swagelok trained and cut, form & terminate pipes when required. I have experience of working on steam boilers, lubricating oil, potable water, high pressure hydraulic systems and HVAC air conditioning. I use procedures and methods complying with ISO 9001 & 9002 and have COSHH, TBRA, Manual Handling and Confined Space Entry training. I understand work priorities and respond to changing deadlines when problems occur.

I have worked for both Oceaneering Multiflex and Technip as an Umbilical Technician and for Wellstream as a Flexible Pipeline Technician. I carried out spooling and deployment of static and dynamic umbilicals on various pipelay and subsea construction vessels, including MS Fennica, MS Nordica, CTC Volantis, CTC Responder, CTC Recorder, Edda Fjord and others for Subsea 7 and Technip.

I mobilised and operated many types of deployment equipment including Drammen and Norsen carousels up to 4000Te, track tensioners configured as 2,3 and 4 track up to 250Te, Am Clyde Norsen vertical lay tower upto 150Te, rim and centre drive reeler units, hydraulic speed compensator units, cable engines and all associated HPU’s and control equipment.Also plough and jet trenching equipment.

I was responsible for the final installation and commissioning of the CTC Volantis in 2008, working on all fixed and contract specific lay spread with hydraulic ‘A’ frame, ROV and trencher recovery system. I am also experienced on platform J tube pull-in operations. I am experienced in ISSOW permit to work system and have COSHH, TBRA, Manual Handling and Confined Space Entry training.

2. Work Experience - CV/Resume Part 2 [Mandatory]

My main responsibilities are on-line leak sealing and repair of pipes, valves and heat exchangers on a live 24 hour continuous process. I carry out hot tapping, plugging, machining, valve and composite repairs. I also do hot & cold bolting and gasket renewal. I measure pipes for clamp fittings, do a technical drawing, submit to engineer and order relevant parts. I use hand tools, compressed air tools and hydraulic equipment. I fit and assemble metal parts and sub-assemblies. I dismantle faulty parts and components and repair or replace defective parts. I operate machines to produce parts or tools by turning, boring, milling, planing, shaping, slotting, grinding or drilling metal stock or components. I liaise with the customer and risk assess each job prior to starting work ensuring the relevant HSE information is known and risks are controlled. I diagnose and rectify problems to prevent a process being stopped or a unit shut down.

My main responsibilities were final assembly and installation of static and dynamic umbilicals. I worked from drawings and successfully assembled complex sub-sea interface units. I cut, thread, bent and installed hydraulic and pneumatic pipes and lines. I set-up and monitored continuity of umbilicals during load-out and sub-sea. I am proficient in the use of air and electric hand tools for cutting and grinding and alter pipe and fittings accordingly. I calibrated hydraulic and pneumatic circuits and prepared paperwork to conform to ISO 9001 requirements. I co-ordinated the final installation of equipment with the customer and carried out final acceptance testing offshore and onshore. I prepared daily & handover logs, certificates of quality and recorded results for the product. I am proficient in Microsoft Office, Permit to Work and specialist software packages.

My primary area of responsibility was assembly of static and dynamic umbilicals. I learned the fundamental tasks of using drawings to build and assemble umbilicals, installing high pressure mechanical and electrical fittings, cable sealing, fibre optic termination and ultra sonic thickness measuring equipment. I was responsible for calibrating components, testing and certifying final product. I moved from this company to Oceaneering in Rosyth to progress further, gain a deeper knowledge by installing umbilicals and increase my responsibility.

My main duty was to carry out mechanical repairs, equipment installations and fault finding across the platform. Some areas of responsibility were steam boilers, sea water desalination plant, HVAC and fuel & lubricating systems. I serviced and repaired diesel powered generation units. I fitted and assembled metal parts and sub-assemblies, including welding and brazing parts. I learned the skills in fundamental techniques of a mechanical fitter and working in a petrochemical industry.
