| 1. Summary (Cover Letter) - CV/Resume Part 1 [Mandatory] |
PERSONAL STATEMENT
Since leaving school at the age of 16 to start my apprenticeship with J.G. Kincaid I have been involved in mechanical engineering, and along my career path have gained a sound knowledge of maintenance systems and hydraulics .
Having completed my apprenticeship I went to work in marine engineering, gaining my 3/III certificate of competency and sailing as engineer on various types and sizes of vessels and at different levels of responsibility from junior engineer on large passenger vessels to sole engineer on ro-ro ferries.
I have gained experience on marine engines, generators, compressors, propulsion units of various types, coolers, sanitation units, pumps of various types and every other conceivable system or piece of equipment onboard sea going vessels and offshore installations.
Along with this I have gained valuable experience in the oil and gas drilling and production fields, have been involved in numerous projects offshore on oil and gas installations and F.P.S.O.’s.
Projects ranging from complete disconnects from the field, reconnection of F.P.S.O. in the field, replacement of main fire pumps and commissioning of the system, overhaul and maintenance of various pipe handling systems, stripping of turbine components and pipework and numerous other projects.
I have been deployed on installations as, relief mechanic, field technician, supervisor and commissioning engineer
With this experience and knowledge I believe I can be a valuable team member and an asset to any company.
I have little in the way of home commitments so I am willing to travel, even at short notice if required and can be flexible on working hours and shift patterns.
Ideally I seek a position where I can continue to expand my experience and knowledge in a position where I can progress my career.
