Dear Sir/Madam,

I am a Mechanical Technician with over 11 years experience, I served a modern apprenticeship with Rolls Royce and I now work for General Electric on their LM series gas turbine engines and packaged equipment.

After my apprenticeship I started full time as a Mechanical Fitter and spent 5 years doing this, I then left Rolls Royce in October 2006 and started to do contract work for General Electric as a Mechanical Technician. I worked at their service centre in the Netherlands. The centre is the main repair and overhaul facility for Europe. I was involved in deep strip, build and detailed inspection of both engines and modules.

After 8 months I moved to General Electric field service. The field service team carry out a number of tasks such as installation and removal of engines, alignment of engines/generators/gearboxes, package maintenance and hot section changes etc.

I am currently looking for a new challenge and would give 110% to any opportunities that were offered to me.

I have completed an OPITO approved (COET) offshore survival course and I have current UKOOA/Norwegian offshore medical certificates.

Employment History

April 2009 – Present General Electric Europe

Since April I have been contract working for General Electric field service, I have been installing their LM engines into various different types of applications and carrying out other field service tasks such as boroscope inspection, semi – annual inspections, alignment, package maintenance and hot section changes etc.

Sept 2008 – April 2009 General Electric Europe

I was working in Holland with GE Europe. I was working at their Rheden service centre on the LM6000 (CF6-80) and LM2500/+ (CF6-50) engines doing deep strip and build of both modules and engines. I am also involved with rigging and de-rigging engines at the test cell, detailed inspection and in-house repairs.

June 2008 – Aug 2008 General Electric Europe

From the beginning of June I was working in Norway with GE energy. I was working at their Agotnes service centre on the LM2500 and LM2500+ engines doing build of modules, engines and power turbines. I was also involved in rigging and de-rigging of engines at the test cell and despatching them to the customer after test.

I have been contract working for F.W Marsh with General Electric field service, I have been removing and installing their LM engines into various different types of applications and carrying out other field service tasks such as boroscope inspection, alignment, hot section changes, semi-annual inspections and maintenance etc.

I was contract working for S.Com at Glasgow Airport with British Airways. I worked on Airbus A320’s with a maintenance team carrying out ‘c’ checks.
