JULY 2008 – PRESENT

I have been working a self employed inspector on a few small projects and they include:

SPX Limited – Uskmouth Severn CCGT Power Station

I am currently employed on site as the QC/Welding Inspector to issue WPS and WPQR. I am ensuring that the correct engineering and welding methods are employed on the Air Cooled Condensate and water cooling system pipe work and welding. My role includes:
WPS and WPQ
Weld production and projections
NDE inspection and reports
Hydrostatic testing of the pipelines
Client interface with Siemens
Ensuring work carried out reflects the weld maps and P and IDs
Electrical and civil inspection
QA documentation
Progress meetings with Siemens
NCRs
Interface with sub-contractors

Conducting factory acceptance tests for subsea control modules, HPUs at GE. Vecto Gray for the Bonacci offshore project which is an ENI gas field


Fairwood Construction.

I inspected fabricated pipe and fittings in X 42 and X65 material to be used in Corus Port Talbot. The NDE process was dye penetration. I wrote the inspection reports and also the WPS for this small project.

I have also worked for other small fabricators in the Swansea area on job to job basis and inspected welds and wrote reports as and when required.

AMEC INDUSTRIAL AND PROCESS LIMITED

I was employed to set up the welding equipment for MIG and TIG processes and ensuring all equipment was functioning for the procedures. I accompanied the inspectors so the welds were clean for the phased arrayed and x-ray inspections could be carried out by third party inspectors. I also was asked to identify any contamination of stainless steel welds log them as per line drawings and rectify the situation as per welding procedures. I also performed holiday detection all the coating on the carbon steel pipe. I was also a member of the HSE committee representing the mechanical engineering department.

Inspection of mechanical, electrical and control packages. Attending kick off meetings, arranging pre-inspection meetings at vendors or main sub-contractors premises.
Revise inspection and test plans ensuring hold, witness and revue points are correct and relevant.
Review material test certificates against material requisitions.
Liaise with engineering and inspectors to ensure the smooth manufacture of goods and also allocate and revise budgets for each inspection. All this is done by reline on info works and vite system

My remit was to ensure that my employer adheres to technical integrity requirements as per ISO 9000.2001, purchaser surveillance tasks and technical document requirements. I Oversaw technical integrity as per ISO 9000-2001 purchase surveillance tasks and technical document requirements. I also conducted vendor visits and liaised with inspection bodies and clients and I also was present at PIMs
