Project Engineering Superintendent 2005 – 2009
Angola Drilling Company Texas Inc. of Houston USA
Responsible for the construction, commissioning and crewing of the $70 MM U.S. jack-up drilling rig Dolphin 111, owned by Nabors International to a Mobil Production Unit, leased to Oil Company Sonangol PP. The project commenced in Galveston USA shipyard, with completion offshore Luanda Angola.
Personal achievements include the following:
 Design installation of the process equipment, including structural strength increase.
 Scheduling and work scope from fabrication through installation to completion.
 Vendor selection with cost control and budgeting.
 Equipment factory acceptance testing approval.
 Preparation of the load out plan for the heavy lift transport vessel.
 Preparation of exportation/importation papers to ensure customs clearance from USA to Angola.
 Finalisation of weight design issues and insurance documents necessary for the acceptance of Class Load line Certificate.
 Formulisation of operations, for load on/off from the transport vessel in USA and Angola.
 Preparation of the towing and positioning procedures for the Warranty Surveyor.
 Selection of full commissioning crew.
 Management of logistical operations for services and personnel to and from the rig, including work visas and flights to and from USA, South Africa and Angola.
Responsible for the construction and reactivation of the $250 MM U.S. semi-submersible drilling rig. The project scope included, hull refurbishment and conversion to a deep water Mobil Offshore Drilling Unit, situated in Galveston shipyard Texas USA.
Personal achievements include the following:
 Formulation of the budget along with presentations to the client with subsequent budget and financial control.
 Design and equipment layout, with piping design integration.
 Equipment selection and weight analysis.
 Classification society liaison for submittals and review of regulatory requirements ensuring standards are met.
 Scheduling of the work scope from fabrication through installation to completion.
 Assessment of all systems necessary for the working criteria of the rig, in addition to the design and operation of new ballast control and fire detection systems.
 Progress assessment and acceptance testing of the main power diesel engines and generators.
 Evaluation and revision of budgets and scheduling during the course of the project.
 Commissioning of equipment and systems.

Maintenance Supervisor (Chief Engineer) 2002 – 2005
Ocean Rig ASA of Stavanger Norway
Onboard a fifth-generation semi-submersible drilling rig Eirik Raude offshore, Nova Scotia & Newfoundland Canada, Cuba, Scotland UK and Hammerfest Norway.
Responsibilities include:
 In charge of the mechanical/electrical department, for the day to day running of the drilling rig.
 Scheduling and implementing planned maintenance with various computer based programs. Continuous maintenance surveys (CMS), on all rotational & static machinery including main engines, diesel generators, compressors, heating ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), refrigeration, fresh water makers (R.O. and desalination types), pumps, fuel, oil and water purification machinery, fire & gas detection and suppression (H2S CO2, Halon, Foam, water mist and fire water.)
 Ordering of spare parts and warehouse control required for a set budget.
 Familiar with class and statutory requirements for survey and certification for MODU - D.N.V.
 Training and implementation of company and department of transport safety requirements.
 Technical report compilations on all operational and static equipment, - i.e. recommendations & solutions of technical problems, consumption failures, running hours and service schedules.

1st Engineer (Project Team) 2000 – 2002
Ocean Rig ASA of Stavanger Norway
Responsible for the construction, commissioning, crewing and training of a $600 MM U.S. fifth-generation semi-submersible drilling rig Eirik Raude, commenced in Friede & Goldman Shipyard Mississippi U.S.A. & completed in Halifax Shipyard Canada.

1st Engineer 1999 – 2000
R&B Falcon Drilling of Houston USA,
Responsible for the construction upgrade, commissioning and operations of the drill ship Deep Water Navigator at Camel Lairds Shipyard Liverpool UK with drilling operations offshore Brazil.

1st Engineer 1996 – 1998
Ocean Oil Construction Ltd (Prosafe Offshore) of Houston USA
Responsible for the construction upgrade, commissioning and operations of the Accommodation semi submersible rig Jasminia, offshore Brazil & Mexico. This included the installation of additional accommodation, with integration to the existing vessel systems.

Technical Superintendent 1995 – 1996
Holyhead Towing Ltd of Holyhead Wales UK
Responsibilities include:
 In charge of all mechanical, electrical and structural control on all company vessels.
 Dry docking and maintenance coordination for the company vessels.
 Formulating a complete CMS and planned maintenance computerised program.
 Responsible for the building of a new working barge/tug, from design through to completion.
 Ordering and arranging for third party personnel to attend breakdown maintenance.
 DNV - Statutory requirements and class certification.

1st Engineer 1990 – 1995
Gulf Offshore North Sea Ltd of Aberdeen Scotland UK
Operation and maintenance of the Platform Supply Vessels and Anchor Handlers offshore North Sea, Malaysia and China, including dry-docking and maintenance upgrades on a number of vessels. Continuous maintenance surveys (CMS), on all rotational & static machinery.

2nd Engineer 1985 – 1990
P&O Containers Ltd of London England UK
Operation and maintenance of the containerships and LNG Gas Carriers with worldwide trade, with involvement in numerous dry-docking and maintenance upgrades to the company vessels.
Responsibilities include:
 In charge of shift under the supervision of the Chief engineer, in the day to day operation of the engine room, including the CMS, planned and breakdown maintenance on all static and rotational mechanical and electrical equipment.
