| 1. Summary (Cover Letter) - CV/Resume Part 1 [Mandatory] |
Dear Sir,
Currently Im working at LNEG (National Laboratory for Energy and Geology) at the Marine Geology Unit in Portugal and my main responsibility is the servicing and operation of geophysical equipments belonging to the Unit and also rented equipments used in our scientific research campaigns like side-scan sonar (EdgeTech 2000CSS and Edgetech 4200FS), multibeam (Reson 8125) and sub bottom profilers (Applied Acoustics AA301 boomer with CSP-S source and a Coda Octopus 750 as acquisition) among others. During this time, Ive gained experience working in-situ solving technical problems successfully and have achieved the campaigns goals consistently thus I have a strong confidence in the knowledge of these and other equipments.
I had a 5 week internship at MARUM (Center for Marine Environmental Sciences University of Bremen) were I was trained in ROV maintenance, in particular Schilling Quest 4000. The ROV training consisted of maintenance, troubleshooting, repair works and final testing of functions on the ROVs different technical areas. I also had training on the MeBo (Deep Sea Drill Rig) and the B-SEAL 5000 (an AUV rated for 5000 m water depth). This was an exciting opportunity where I underwent intensive training, and achieved to detect and repair faults in the equipments within a short period of time. The detailed certificate of training/internship is attached and includes an evaluation of my skills.
My main qualification is on Automation, Robotics and Industrial Control as a Specialized Technician by ATEC (Academy for Industrial Technology, a partnership between Siemens, Bosh and Volkswagen) though I have complemented my education in specific industrial areas were Ive worked.
Before accepting my current position at LNEG, I worked as a Technical Manager and Field Service Engineer of the brand Magirus in Portugal (turntable fire-fighting ladders). I was in charge of 64 considerably complex machines with strict and demanding safety protocols. I planned and implemented the maintenance program of these machines and also implemented upgrade measures regularly in line with the manufacturer, achieving a 95% operational status of these machines. Due to my extensive practical experience, I have no trouble in detecting and repairing electronic/electric, hydraulic and pneumatic faults in robotic and automation complex systems as Im familiarized with a broad scope of sensors and PLCs.
My communications skills are excellent, having worked in international settings where I have had to adapt to different cultures and approaches to the workplace. I adapt quickly, and am well-suited to a team environment as well as individual work situations, and can easily apply myself in a highly demanding technical environment, Im familiar with working to strict deadlines and I find I work well under pressure.
