Nature of Duties:

Network with Sasol Wax Operations, Sasol Technology, Foster Wheeler, Licensors and Vendors
Represent Sasol Wax and provide inputs into Hazops; reviews; bid clarifications; model reviews, FAT’s
Ensure alignment and integration between existing plants (including new initiatives) and FTWEP
Involvement in cleaning activities; chemical, flushing, blowing. Sign off on final system cleanliness ensuring any Licensor/Vendor requirements are met. Back punch system after re-instatement. Ensure availability of all correct FO’s/FE’s and that they are correctly installed. Liaise with equipment vendors to ensure all requirements are met (e.g. compressors) Involvement with catalyst loading where applicable; ensure that grids, distributors and gaskets are available and correct; ensure procedure for catalyst loading is followed correctly and sign off on loading activities and final box up. Achieving clearance for operation; witness and sign off pressure tests, leak tests, tightness checks and vacuum leak tests; witness inerting of equipment and/or lines; witness trip checks and ESD tests; confirm system line ups per MFD by operations. Review and approve training material with regard to technical accuracy ensuring the design intent. Assist in developing start up procedures and checklists. Start up operational technical support; Control parameters to be monitored. Sample analysis results. Ramp up rates. Set points. On the job training. Evaluate control loop performance. Update documents accordingly.

Currently under training and development on the ATR process. Do on the job training by myself on shift with the assistance of the other SPC’s and the production Forman. I did start with training on the presses control panel recently with the aim to be competent to take over shift . Also training by the training officer on training day that include relevant process and safety training. I am also a observer for the Zebra safety and awareness program.

Position Held: Resident Asset Leader Train 6 & 7

Position Held: 1 April 08 to 20July 08

Nature of Duties:

Having a diverse group of people from different cultures and nationalities it was expected of me to help build and develop a strong and productive team to de competent and ready for startup of the train. Took part in the day to day construction activities that involve test packs, RFI and final inspections. Assist personnel in any problems and questions in pre startup activities. Work on procedure for de greasing of units prior to startup. Arrange and motivate daily operator classroom training sessions. Conduct daily morning meeting with production personnel and planning ahead for work to come and any relevant pre startup and commissioning activities. Arranging manpower and 100% assistance for pre- commissioning activities . Took part in a weekly management plant safety inspection on construction site. Attend weekly procedure review and procedure status meeting with procedure writers and also take part in review procedures. Took part in weekly asset management meeting. Schedule training and awareness sessions and participate in RGEE training sessions. Assisting production people with any HR issues and work side by side with HR regarding any feedback and problems regarding all personnel is working 28/28 rotation. Development of schedules for working, flight and accommodation for the production staff . Assist and mentor shift supervisors where en when needed. Assist Asset Coordinator where needed and act- up in position when needed. Attend daily meetings with main contractor on construction progress. Work out a schedule with vendors for operations vendor training. Develop and review work procedures and check list for safe and stable startup of plant. Lead classroom training for personnel regarding process as well as pre startup activities. Develop of electrical lock out system and blinding and de blinding procedure as well as the training and development of the personnel in this systems. Give weekend and after hours assistants to shift supervisor and personnel if and when needed. Responsible to contact with different departments and contractors that is taking care of the accommodation and catering services for the rotation personnel. Give startup support and assisting to personnel as units and equipment comes available. Develop a development plan, assist and motivate Qatari national operators. Develop, mentor and asses operators in there on the job training activities. Work with training department on panel simulator training program, assessment and competencies .Work with running assets when work need to be done in their area for construction work and tie–ins on life lines. All other asset and startup related activities. All this activities is aim to have the operations personnel competent for the startup of train 6 and a 100 % ready and available plant by the target date for commissioning. Preparation and development of unit specific training.

Position Held: Shift Supervisor Train 5

Position Held: 29 January 07 to 1 April 08

Nature of Duties:

Start working in the middle stages of the safe and successful startup of the RasGas train 5 LNG train in early 2007 with a diverse group of people from different cultures and nationalities. Help build and develop a strong and productive team in Train 5 to become the most successful train in RasGas in Safety, housekeeping, production and plan stability. The main objective was the safe stable and the achievement of the daily production target. To assist in problem solving on the process. The daily production activities and safe running of the LNG/ AGR train. Attending all plant and Asset related meetings. Involved in the review of all plant procedures to ensure flawless operations and implementing of the RGEE system. Active support in the B safe behavior program . The training and development of Qatari nationals. Develop and compile the shift and daily production report as well as daily environmental report. Implementation of the Performance Management system in 2007. Conduct daily shift meeting with plant personnel. Assist panel operator in problem solving and trouble shooting. Conduct monthly emergency exercise. Take the lead in any emergency situation and plant upset. Contac with maintenance and Emergency services when needed. Were responsible for on seen commander daring emergency situations. Work with shutdown planning group to insure a safe and successful shutdown. Responsible for 100 % manpower coverage. Issue of permit to work when needed. Work with panel operator and field operator to minimize flaring at all times. Work with different departments on the development of Job Safety Analyst as well as MOC. Preparation of first hand investigation and incident reports.

Company: SASOL Petroleum Temane (Working for SASOL Company since 09/01/1989 till 29/01/07)

Position Held: Console SPC and Acting as Lead Operator for 2 and a half years.
Period: 15 / 10 / 2003 till 28/01/07

Nature of Duties:

Start working at Temane during construction stage and was heavily involved in the pre commissioning, and commissioning activities and also the start up and stabilizing of the plant. This activity was mainly outside on the plant and then as shift leader.

I were involved in the preparations and start up of the Gas processing facility and the stable running of the plant. Also working on the gas wells, condensate wells and water re-injection wells . I also had a intensive on site training on wells for 14 days from KBR . Develop and compile the shift and daily production report. Day to day work is the safe running of the plant, attending meetings which included safety, environmental, production planning with the gas customers, planning of the safe transport of stabilized condensate, planning of commissioning and de-commissioning of production wells with the wells department, planning of shutdowns on the plant. To assist in problem solving on the process . To meet with the deferent departments including the maintenance department to discuss and plan work to be done and brake downs. Also addressing all personnel related work and planning. Get in contact with the gas clients on a day to day basis to make sure we meet the gas demand. Responsible for the daily production report and also the monthly production report . Compiling of environmental report, especially when environmental spillages occurred. The issuing of work permits and also the daily endorsement of permits. Development of risk assessments, and a permit to work system . To make sure we comply with the World Bank , ISO 9000 & 14000 standards and to make sure all care are taken with regard to safety, environmental, gas specification and gas nomination are met. The planning of production personnel as the need occurs to make sure there are sufficient personnel on the plant. The managing of time and attendants op the SAP system . The ordering and withdraws from the main stores on the SAP system. The successful training of the Mozambique trainees that is working on a permanent basis . Revue and develop of procedures and compiling of checklist and development of new procedures to meet our requirements. Develop an electrical lockout procedure and implementation there off. I have experience on removing of hydrocarbons from Raw Natural gas, Condensate stabilization , TEG Units, Dew point control Units, HP and LP compression, Gas turbine generators , Incineration , all necessary utility’s, Flare system, Daniel Metering, Water and Condensate re injection, Industrial Effluent treatment, Stabilized Condensate loading. I was involved in the planning and preparations of the expansion of the Production plant. I was working on a 14 day on 14 day off Rota system.

Company: Ethyl Acetate Sasol Solvents

Position Held: Console SPC
Period: 10/10/00 - 01 / 10 / 20003

Reason for Transfer: Wanted an opportunity to get into the Oil and Gas industry and broaden my knowledge and experience.

Nature of Duties:

Start working at Ethyl Acetate before construction stage and was heavily enfold in the pre commissioning, and commissioning activities and also the start up and stabilizing of the plant. The activities as outside on the plant as well as the startup on the panel.

Part of the production team that start up the Ethyl Acetate plant in 2001.Start up and
shutdown of the plant. Control and maintain the plant according to the ISO 9000 and Sasol
spec. Acting as section manager when the section manager were not available . Any normal duties of a Console SPC. Attending, planning meetings, maintenance meetings and leading of shift and safety meetings . Handling of shutdowns on the production side. Preparing and handling of ISO and Nosa audits. Helping, assisting and mentoring new PC’S with training and preparations for practical testing for promotion.

Company: Sasol Fertilizers Secunda

Nature of Duties:

Start working at Akrylo during construction stage and was heavily involved in the pre commissioning, and commissioning activities and also the start up and stabilizing of the plant. Start working on the Siemens panel just after the initial start up.

Controlling of the Akrylo plant on the Siemens Console. Reporting plant states to Section
Manager. Controlling plant to ISO 9000 & 14000 standards and Sasol specifications.
Also work as day shift SPC. My responsibilities were: Handling of hire laborers, ordering and handling of chemicals from store, as well as safety clothing , monthly plant inspection with managers, maintains of all
emergency equipment on plant ,getting plant ready for ISO and NOSA inspections, Working on small projects.
Also where part of the start up team that commission the plant in 1996 and then taking the plant out of commission in 1999.

Company : Ammonium Sulfate ( Sasol 1 )

Position Held: PC GR 1 and acting as SPS
Period: 15/ 01/1994 – 05 / 10 / 1994
