Career history:

November 2008 - Present
Oger, Abu Dhabi, UAE
MEP CAD Coordination supervisor.

Currently working on the construction of the Financial Centre project which is underway in Abu Dhabi.
The project consists of a stock exchange, a retail centre, 2 car-parks and 4 high rise towers for commercial purposes.
My responsibilities revolve around the coordination of services in all buildings of which the 30+ storey towers are complete, the retail is 90% complete and I am currently recoordinating the stock exchange as we have received a new design for the fit out.
I have constant dialogue with the architectural, and structural departments so I may coordinate the buildings service requirements.
50% of my role is office based producing coordinated service and shop drawings and the other 50% is based on site instructing our MEP contractor on the installation of services.

January 2008- November 2008
Carillion Construction, Anguilla (British West Indies)
MEP CAD/Site coordination supervisor.

Worked on a fast track project working on the construction of a 5 star holiday resort on the Caribbean Island of Anguilla.
The vast project consisted of a main hotel (8 storey with 200+ hotel rooms) villas, town houses numerous swimming/eternity pools, bars, private beach etc.
My role was to perform full MEP coordination of all buildings and external services which are required on such a large resort project with the support of one other coordinator as well as advising and managing the MEP contractor for the installation of services.
The role was a combination of instructing workers on site to give them coordination guidance as the work was being carried out and managing the drawing office in order to provide CAD support for the project.

March 2006-January 2008
Interserve defence ltd, The Falkland Islands
South Atlantic asset manager/ CAD technician.

Worked in the position of “Asset manager” for the MOD bases in the South Atlantic as well as giving CAD support for all work taking place in these locations.
The South Atlantic MOD locations consist of all military assets across the Falkland Islands, Ascension Island and used to include South Georgia which is now a redundant base. Overall this is a distance of over 4000 miles between bases and so plenty of travelling is required.

The role of Asset manager requires me to ensure that all work is carried out on time, and all the documentation needed for closing out each job is correct and fully accounted for by the job officer in order to be passed to the client (defence estates) for payment.
These jobs are vast and varied as expected when working for a company supplying the service of facilities management to such a large estate. (Anything from installing a new power socket to building a new housing estate for the married quarters on a base)

The role of CAD support (CAD technician) requires me to produce working drawings for any jobs when required and vary in discipline from structural/construction to M+E building services where I can assert my previous experience in design and co-ordination.
I was also required to supply existing drawings when required and act as the custodian of the whole drawing library for the South Atlantic. These drawings consist of some 15,000 hard copy drawings and 8,000 electronic copies covering the whole South Atlantic estate with some dating back to 1983 (just after the Falklands conflict)
