I have done M.Tech in Fluid and Thermal specialization (Mechanical Engineering) (with CPI 9.4 out of 10.0 scales) from IIT Guwahati in 2006. I am currently working as Assistant Manager Procurement with Bharat Petroleum Corp. Ltd. (India’s 2nd largest Oil refiner) in India.

I want to pursue my career as Procurement Professional. I am having 4 years & 2 months experience of working with central procurement group, where, I Support in formulation of procurement and contracting strategy (For Procurement Excellence):

 Formulate procurement strategy (by using Tools i.e. Total Cost Of Ownership, Price Variance, Spend Analysis, Supply market analysis, LPP, Value analysis, Inventory Analysis, Purchasing Process Mapping etc) and recommend cost control measures in order to assist efficient execution of material availability. (Total cost of ownership and Value Analysis savings of Rs. 10 Cr annually vis-à-vis Procurement value of Rs. 100 Cr annually)

 Ensure that economies of scale are leveraged across all strategic sourcing and purchases Research New products, Price trends, New Technology through primary or secondary data source. Evaluate competitor strategy to leverage market information for company's benefit.

 I have work with McKinsey (consultant) for implementing procurement strategies (using procurement excellence tool) to add more value to the Organization. Job Responsibilities:
 Techno commercial bid analysis & Purchase recommendation & vendor drawing review of various rotary equipments like Multi Product Dispensers, Submersible Turbine Pump, LPG Carousals, Loading Arms, Steel Plates, Pumps (LPG / POL), Compressors, Transformers, Cables, Pipes, Diesel Generator (DG set), Valves, Flow meters, Boiler, Cooling tower, Thermic fluid heater, Chillers, Vapour absorption machine, Lube Barrels, Plastic Containers, Lubes Additive, Additives for MS and HSD etc. (I have handled more than 100 Cr / annum worth projects as procurement professional)
 Project Co-ordination & Discussions with bidders/vendors and execution of site construction work for petroleum sector / hydrocarbon projects.
 Support in formulation of procurement and contracting strategy (For Procurement Excellence):

 Regularly evaluate market for new contractors and Internally evaluate contractor capacity employed vis-à-vis company capacity requirement
 Strategic Sourcing and Market Intelligence:

 Manage critical Vendors / Contractors Relationship:
 Organize periodic contractors meets. Conduct Vendor Satisfaction Survey (VSS) for improving vendor relationships and Improve on the Vendor Satisfaction ratings on annual basis
 Proactively interact with vendors to identify issues and concerns and accordingly improve systems and processes to address them
 Ensure external competitiveness planning for suppliers through assessment around the most common opportunity levers of best price evaluation, leverage, product specification improvement, joint process/organizational improvement, and usage/demand reduction
 Vendor Selection and Performance:
 Responsible for Identification, Selection and Development of new suppliers & contractors
 Evaluate suppliers & contractors from time to time on Quality, Cost, Delivery (QCD) and post- delivery services as per the set norms and ensure their adherence to these
 Establish systems and processes for stores and their operations:
 Establish systems for enhancing capability, efficiency and performance of store operations and establish process for slow moving / project surplus in terms of options to use existing inventory or sell off extra materials. Inventory Analysis (MRP Run, ABC Analysis, Spend Analysis)
 Ensure Governance Compliance:
 Ensure compliance to audits, regulation, statutory requirements and resolve issues related to form C, Octroi, Bill of entry etc.
 Coordination with the different departments for the job to be done at the right time with proper functioning and knowledge of SAP R/3 (MM module)
 I am having sound knowledge of SAP procedure for material management module and commercial activities related to purchasing of material & services and related accounting, excise, VAT etc.
 Payment:
 Preparing Letter of Credits using online portal of M/s. STANDARD CHARTERED BANK , Cash against Documents which includes liasoning with the vendor and bank, Telegraphic Transfers
 Adoption of INCO TERMS as per latest UCP600 Edition
 Arranging for Insurance for 100% consignments, Clearance Activities in close coordination with Customs for Sea and Air Consignments

 I have successfully implemented E-Procurement portal (along with Reverse Auction Portal) for Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited with coordination of service provider.
 I am currently working with the functional team for implementation of SAP – SRM (Supplier Relationship Management). I have also handling the vendor development activities also along with the updation & maintenance of vendor master.
