Dear Sir / Madam,

I am a mid-level manager looking for a Legal Counsel or other legal-related position for a move. I have a background in law, having been awarded Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of London. I have close to 7 years experience in Commercial, Contract and Legal work and have also a keen interest in the marine and oil and gas sector having experience of more than 5 years in that industry.

I am a little bit different in the sense that I gained my knowledge and skills on the job before I got my academic and theoretical knowledge from my LLB (of which my previous employer sponsored that study). As a result, I claim to be more "street-wise" and "street-smart" than most of the people with similar set of skill; an attribute which can be very useful in doing the job practically especially so in developing countries in Asia.

I have a wide regional experience handling legal matters from Hong Kong, China, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Middle East, etc and I have dealt with a great variety of people including but not limited to suppliers, customers, insurers and the company's own senior management and Board of Directors.

Another of my differentiation is that I have a keen eye on commercial and business matters. I believe that the difference being a legal counsel and a lawyer in private practice is that as the Legal Counsel, being part of the organisation, one has to keep in mind the commercial interest of the company as the utmost importance and act based on that interest, protecting that interest from the legal perspectives. I believe it is important therefore for a Legal Counsel or manager to have commercial experience or a business acumen for the reason mentioned above.

2. Work Experience - CV/Resume Part 2 [Mandatory]

24th May 2010 – Present – Contract Transition Manager of BT Global Services (British Telecommunications plc)

Working in the team that handles the biggest outsourcing contract to date for BT Asia Pacific with contract value in excess of EUR 80 million.

1) Successfully brokered a planned negotiation between a difficult Indonesian supplier (a local telecommunication national monopoly) and BT over a contract value of Euro 150,000 per plan per annum
2) Gathered information and insight that is valuable for the above negotiation to happen favourably for BT

1) Involved in a case of a few high networth Indonesian private clients against a leading Swiss private bank (case worth around USD 3 million)
2) Involved in a case regarding a shipping company in Indonesia that requires financing for a LPG FSO (floating storage and offloading vessel) (worth USD 20 million)
3) Assisted an Indonesian based shipping company that service the coal miners who requires financing to purchase a few tugboats and barges (worth around USD 15 million)
4) Assisted an Indonesian based shipping company that serves offshore oil majors that requires financing to purchase a few crew vessels (worth around USD 15 million)
5) Involved in a case regarding a major Indonesian ores and coal shipper that service major mining companies who requires financing for new drybulk cargo vessels (worth around USD 30 million)

The Company’s major customers include multinational oil majors that has E & P (exploration and production) activities in the region i.e BP, Conoco Phillips, Santos, CNOOC, Petrochina, Total E & P, amongst others.
