Other responsibilities and accomplishments include:

 Planning and procuring inventories to support supply chain activities
 Ensuring optimization of supplier base to leverage spend while ensuring effective competition
 Inventory sourcing, delivery and purchase order administration, contract performance monitoring
 Documented savings for various projects in excess of $1.5MM
 Contract administration associated with purchasing initiatives
 Contract negotiation / modification, performance monitoring and claim resolution
 Award, administration and close-out of highly complex and technical contracts for construction, maintenance, professional and technical services, consultants and other related services

Coordinates daily activities of facility departments and client agents to ensure goals and objectives are met. Other responsibilities and accomplishments include:

 Establishing and maintaining production database for tracking facility performance
 Coordinate daily activities between facility and client to ensure goals and objectives are met
 Establish key performance indicators for all operations departments
 Implemented systematic tracking of key commodities such as lime, carbon and propane
 Develop standardized production reporting format for use throughout organization
 Identified and tracked shortfall in tire inventory which resulted in more than $1MM recovered lost revenue.
 Established and implemented computer based operations data logs for operating hours and downtime.


Montenay Projects Inc., Miami, FL (formerly Birwelco-Montenay, Inc.) 1994 - 2001

Contract Administrator

Reporting to the Project Manager and VP-Construction & Special Projects, responsible for the acquisition of capital equipment and major construction procurement for $115MM resource recovery capital improvement projects, development of computerized procurement information system, document control activities and human resource management. Other responsibilities included:

 Supervised all procurement activities and negotiations for equipment and contractor services used in the capital upgrade of the resource recovery facility.
 Responsible for development and implementation of policies and procedures utilized during project activities and corporate procurement policies and procedures.
 Implemented computerized procurement information system, developed activity tracking report system.
 Project Manager for various capital improvement projects valued at $20MM. Activities include owner and insurance claim resolution, scheduling and cost control and all construction activity coordination.
 Responsible for maintaining and issuance of monthly progress reports to owner, bond engineer and bank engineer
 Supervised the activities of Project Control Technician, Purchasing Agent and administrative staff.


Florida Power & Light Co., Miami, FL 1976 - 1993

Contract Coordinator (1993)

Reporting to the Director of Purchasing & Contracts. Responsible for development and administration of capital and O&M budgets for new construction and ongoing daily maintenance activities with no cost overruns.

 Supervised activities of four contractors and a staff of 44 employees in support of two generating stations with a combined capacity of 900 megawatts.
 Team member for R&D project to improve boiler efficiency.
 Coordinated development of process’ leading to 84% improvement in vendor payment processing time.
 Negotiated contract for, and oversaw the installation of new leased Reverse Osmosis water treatment system.
 Negotiated $790K in contract savings in 1993.


Material Management Specialist (1991-1993)

Reporting to the Director of Purchasing & Contracts. Responsible for directing the activities of two warehouse facilities with four technicians and a combined inventory of approximately $10MM, all onsite procurement and contracting activities and all accounts payable activities.

 Reduced inventory by $4.1MM in two years
 Developed and implemented new processes’ which reduced cycle time for procurement by 75%
 Developed and implemented site procurement policies and practices manual of procedures
 Established waste minimization program
 Implemented multi-site inventory barcode system.
 Coordinated site recovery efforts in the aftermath of hurricane Andrew.
 Pilot location for Corporate Procurement Card program.


Sr. Purchasing Agent / Supervisor of Procurement - Power Generation Business Unit (1981-1991)

Reporting to the Manager of Purchasing. Responsible for acquisition of operating materials and supplies, capital equipment and major construction procurement activities for a business unit which encompassed 12 generating stations and a capacity of over 12,500 MwH. Assisted with the development of the annual department budget. Responsible for tracking of budget activities, and more than $200MM in annual procurement activities.

 Supervised the activities of seven (7) purchasing professionals and 5 clerical support staff
 Developed Nuclear Quality Assurance Manual for Purchasing Department
 Directed all procurement activities during reactivation of “mothballed” power plant
 Assisted in acquisition of fossil and nuclear fuel supplies
 Purchased all transmission and substation structures and associated equipment for 500 kV transmission projects which is over 300 miles long and valued at $28 MM.
