 Build and develop Global industries new ROV Division.
 Commissioning the ISV Global Challenger, Global Industries new 110m Norwegian designed deepwater construction support vessel.

ROV General Manager

Responsible in the first instance to the ROV Vice President.
 Build and develop Superior Offshore newly formed ROV Division. Development of the workshops and facilities in Houston. Included workshops for Mechanical, Fabrication and Electrical diagnostics for service and repair of all ROV established equipment. Construct areas for FAT & SIT's complete with moch up ROV system and incorporated the use of the Perry Slingsby Houston ROV Simulator for detailed visual simulation for ROV project planning and demonstration.
 Developing Superior Offshore Deepwater intervention Diving and ROV business. As this was a new company breaking into the ROV business, a great deal of time was spent nurturing and developing new business. Chevron, SAIPEM, Bp T&T, Tyco, Boots and Coots and ATP to name a few who awarded contracts to the Deepwater Group. The SOI ROV division had great success in Trinidad and GOM, also winning contracts in India; these are a few achievements, which can be recognized as part of my work and commitment to SOI.
 Liaising directly with clients to better develop business relationships and build a value added relationship
 Assisting the estimating group with project costs, time lines, rates and possible project show stoppers and pitfalls. Further assisting the business development teams and managers with local and International clientele knowledge.
 Commission 3 x Perry XLS ROV systems (27, 28 and 42), Complete with LARS and containerized control systems.
 Coordinating vessel project operations, project management, engineering and logistics, Producing Vessel costing reports relating to Project time lines and liaising with Vessel owner to stream line the business and better utalisastion of the vessel and alternate vessels required for other projects.
 ISV Adams Surveyor operated for 260days with 227days utilized. Projects ranged from Survey to light construction in water depths from 200ft through to 10000ft.
 Developed the ROV personnel technical training with Perry Slingsby and Schilling Robotics in Houston. In-house Development and guidance of new ROV Project Engineers to substantiate the growing business.
 Create all personnel, operational and logistical schedules.
 Supporting the Diving division with new in house developed Diving subsea Tooling and ROV intervention assistance
 Liaising with Engineering faculty to develop a better Subsea Intervention tooling design group and develop an understanding of the Subsea Intervention needs
 Preparation of ROV technical and operational procedures, service requirement documents, preparation of product technical and operational manuals.
 Present talks to the Engineering faculty and company personnel on Deepwater and ROV intervention technology to establish a greater understanding of the ROV and Subsea market and business.
 Working budgetary constraints of US $30million
Unfortunately the Superior Offshore CEO, CFO and COO drove the company into closure through poor business practices, I am proud to say that just prior to the company closing the ROV division was the only department with a positive cash flow. The ROV vessel had a total utilization of 227days / 260 days contracted.

I resigned and accepted the roll of GM with Global Industries prior to close of SOI, at the time of offer I had also offers from MAKO Technologies in Louisiana and OceanWorks in Houston, both positions were as Subsea and Engineering Manager.

Feb 06 – March 07: Direct to Sonsub International Limited Aberdeen
Project Engineer – Remote Technologies Group
(Operations / ROV / Diving)

Responsible in the first instance to the Remote Technologies Group Engineering Manager. Duties include technical / mechanical / hydraulic support to the ROV Assets and offshore fleet and with involvement in product design and modification of subsea tooling packages within Sonsub.

Other duties include preparation of offshore operational procedures, service requirements documents, preparation of product technical and operational manuals, liaising with third party service providers on regular basis to further communicate ideas, technical requirements and constraints for work to be completed. Involvement in planning and attending of FMEA, SIT, FAT and Module reviews for subsea tooling trials with Sonsub current 3000m rated ROV deepwater pipeline repair system.
Project Management and Engineering roles
 SiRCos Pipeline Repair System – Technical & Operational reviews and project documentation relating to design, commissioning, pipe line repair, installation and maintenance as well as ROV operational procedures.
 Kumaza Pemex Riser Tie-in (Bay Of Campeche Mexico) – Diving and ROV intervention for tie-in and initiate to STP Buoy, MWA, PLEM installation and Riser connection. Design and initiate launch system for MWA and 150Te clump weights from ISV Norman Cutter. All Diving and ROV procedures and general rigging, tooling and ROV intervention.

March 2003 Feb 2006: UKPS Offshore Seconded to Sonsub / Fugro
ROV Supervisor, Project Engineer (offshore)
Working through UKPS Offshore I was assigned to Sonsub offshore and Fugro Offshore as an ROV Supervisor. In this role as the ROV supervisor’, the main duties are to facilitate all ROV operations on a day to day basis. That includes all diving related operations and operational reports, liaising and reporting to the client rep and directing assistance to project teams regarding equipment and operational issues. Up-dating and writing maintenance schedules, manuals and records, as well as the inventorying and ordering of spare parts, logistical issues and mobilizations of ROV spread & equipment to and from vessel.
Maintenance and fault finding of Electrical, Electronic, Hydraulic and fiber optic ROV sub-systems is an ongoing aspect of ROV spread, with continual system improvement as many systems were working in excess of 3000mts.

ROV Project Engineer; Duties include Project Operational Procedures, Technical writing, mechanical analysis, design and drafting pertaining to subsea construction, Intervention and inspection, pipeline survey, cable / pipeline lay and Burial, as well as the adaptation of new sub-sea ROV related hydraulic / mechanical / electrical intervention tools.

ROV Supervisor /Supt SCV 15 and SCV14 Stolt Offshore

Working for Total Fina Elf in Angola West Africa, with the development and infield maintenance contract for the Girasol Field. Our duties related to the infield maintenance, some of the projects includes the SBM Chain replacement and re-initiation, testing and intervention of Well Manifold, Termination assemblies, Hydraulic subsea connectors, Electric Connectors, Well Control Pod’s, field inspections / survey including the Metrology for new spools and tie inns. On many occasions, the ROV team was called upon to engineer new intervention tools for different circumstances, ROV tooling and intervention being of a high priority and all tooling was of a bespoke design and engineered on site. Chain Cutting, long extension cameras for internal CVI of WELL bores, modified torque tools, FLOT tools, ROV tooling and pumping Skids, ROV submersible dirty work packs etc.

The Stolt developed MATIS Deepwater pipeline Tie-Inn connection tool was deployed from the ISV Maersk Attender and coupled to the SCV vehicles during deep water manifold tie-inn operations.
The FMC KOSS torque tools and KOSS CAT Flow line Connection tool’s, which are a custom made connect / release tool for field joints in the Girasol area were also part of the tooling operations spread.

Commenced ROV career in 1995.
Companies included Tritech Perth, Covus Perth, Sonsub UK and Singapore, Stolt Offshore Uk and Brazil, Sonamet West Africa and Oceaneering Aust.

Offshore Mechanical Maintenance and Installations Technician

Employed by Transfield Worley / Woodside Offshore as a Mechanical Technician, performing maintenance and installation duties on board the "Goodwyn A", "North Rankin A", Gas and Oil Production and Drilling Platforms, the "Cossack Pioneer FPSO" which is also moored on the North West coast of Australian and the Burrup gas plant adjacent to Karratha on the NW Coast. Project activities were the commissioning, maintenance and implementing of all plant equipment for the Offshore and Onshore installation facilities, some of this equipment were gas inline compressors, gas turbines for reinjection and top side Drill Rig modifications.

Indentured Mechanical Apprentice for 4 years; gaining experience in the mining industry, heavy Steel construction and steel making industries.
