CV/Resume Details
1. Summary (Cover Letter) - CV/Resume Part 1 [Mandatory]

I am seeking an opportunity to apply my executive leadership and management skills and to capitalize on my significant experience in procurement, supply chain, information systems, sales order fulfillment, master planning, manufacturing, transportation, distribution, logistics and inventory management. My business management experience is successful track records of helping organizations meet rapidly changing market demands. In a succession of companies I have increased profitability through improved efficiencies, productivity and quality while reducing costs and saving time. My ability to develop and implement solutions has brought praise from all of my employers and clients and has generated high rates of savings.

For this opportunity I bring:
• I have till recently been the Director of Parts Procurement for FirstGroup America. This is managing the supply chain and suppliers supporting 1200 locations with OTD and managing a spend of $354M in parts and services. This position required the creation of a new procurement department and the setting up of over 100 prime contracts and 2000 suppliers. I also sourced parts and developed a supply chain and distribution for parts from China.
• I managed the logistics for BASF where I managed three departments; Stores receiving, catalyst repackaging and distribution warehouse, and a traffic scheduling and control function serving eleven production plants. Directed over 19,000 truck, 12,000 rail and 300 ship and barge shipments and receipts annually valued at over $1.3B. I maintained fixed assets valued at $12M including, docks, 12.2 miles of track and 960 tank cars.
• Reengineered and resourced global logistics and inventory for Chevron-Oronite as part of a major ROCE improvement project where I also was responsible to redesign the S&OP process and sales metrics and to resource all of their global logistics.
• As director, I was the architect and start up lead for AT Kearney/SDE Business Partnering’s outsourced managed purchasing and supply chain services for a number of large clients including Chrysler. This had me managing over 3000 suppliers and $600MM in spend.
• I have 20+ years of management experience in Purchasing, Transportation, Logistics and Production Management. This includes lean manufacturing and lean supply chain.
• 10 Years in Big 4 Consulting practice implementing purchasing, supply chain and manufacturing best practices and sourced freight of all modes for multiple clients.
• I have led and been responsible for sourcing in excess of $1.5 B in goods and services and have used a variety of e-sourcing tools
• I have an MBA with Information Systems, BSME undergrad.
• I have worked in multi-plant, multi-country environment in multiple industries; worked in USA, Canada, Mexico, France, Kuwait, Scotland, Singapore, Japan, India and Australia.

There are many sourcing “guru” in the market place. I am different in that I have done the work and delivered the results many times over. I am “hands on” in doing the work and I train and reengineer the organizations to become top performers. I build a loyal staff, capable of working autonomously with the tools and systems in place to continue to drive continuous improvement. I am not just a team builder but I reinforce the team as the glue.

A copy of my resume is attached and more information is available as required. I look forward to discussing this position and next steps with you.
