CV/Resume Details
1. Summary (Cover Letter) - CV/Resume Part 1 [Mandatory]
HR Dept
Personnel Officer
Dear Sir/Madam
I am currently seeking opportunities in the offshore maritime industry. I have recently completed my AMSA SCTW95 Certificate of Safety Training and OPITO BOSIET (inc HUET) training through IFAP. I hold a current AMSA Certificate of Medical Fitness as well as a basic Riggers License and numerous other certificates that would be of value in the maritime industry.
My recent work experience has been in the mining industry performing a number of varied roles from production through to supervision and safety, which highlight my versatility and ability to learn new skills to assist my employer to achieve desired goals. Whilst working in the mining sector I was exposed to concepts of Safe Systems of Work including all aspects of hazard identification and rectification. I firmly believe in the philosophies of ZERO HARM and employ safe work practices in whatever I do. I am experienced in remote/isolated work environments and extended periods away on swing, up to 8weeks, as such I have a thorough understanding of the requirement for remote workers to get along and to minimise disruption within the team. I also manage myself well, being of sober work habits and a clear understanding of company requirements regarding D&A as well as fatigue management principles.
I am seeking the opportunity to be taken on as a TIR although I am more than prepared to work as a steward or a ships cook if there is a requirement in that area. My sea experience is blue water racing in the 90s which is where I developed my initial desire to work on the sea. I am adept at anything that I take on as my varied work experiences will show. I am very keen to get a start in the industry and consider myself to be a very loyal employee. I am currently studying OHS and TAA as well as any other maritime courses that become available to me to assist in my career as such I am available to join a ship at short notice.
If you require any copies of documentation or referees please contact me and I shall forward them promptly.
I hope that you will consider my application for any relevant jobs that become available through.
2. Work Experience - CV/Resume Part 2 [Mandatory]
Recent History:
Jun 2010 - Current Studying
During the past 4months I have been completing training for maritime opportunities and continuing with my studies for Cert IV OSH and Cert IV TAA.
Jan 2010 Jun 2010 Supervisor / Safety Officer - Western Plant Hire
My time at Western Plant Hire was spent assisting them to man-up and develop their systems at their new contract with RTIO Dampier Port Operations.
Significant achievements include procedure writing and continued focus on cultural change to assist WPH to achieve 0 LTIs for the first 6months of operation, as well as assisting in developing their skills matrix and a skills gap analysis. I organised the monthly Safety Meeting and presented toolbox topics on a weekly basis. Additionally I planned, allocated and reviewed resources required for their dynamic contract with RTIO.
Apr 2009 Jan 2009
Casual Chef (Gourmet Grub, MIDS Blue Water Restaurant, Cafe Sails)
During this period I worked casually for a number of catering businesses in Albany. My duties as a chef were to prepare nutritious and flavoursome meals in a timely manner.
Feb 2007 Apr 2009 Process Operator / Process Supervisor Straits Resources (SRL(Whim Creek))
After initially being employed as a process operator by SRL for their heap leach utility team, I quickly progressed through their training program to become a process supervisor.
I gained experience in all facets of their copper production operation from Crushing through Heap Leach, Solvent Extraction and Electro-Winning. During my time there I was required to plan daily activities, monitor the chemical processes and ensure quality control. As Whim Creek was a remote site we were constantly posed with difficult situations that sometimes required short term fixes as parts/spares arriving from Perth were generally days away. I was able to be part of a team that continually delivered high quality outcomes in a remote environment. It was working for SRL that I was significantly exposed to Safe Work Systems including Permit to Work, JSA/JHA and Risk Assessment, As a process supervisor I had to work closely with the Safety Department to ensure all jobs could be completed with minimal risk to all resources.
Sep 2006 Feb 2007 Chef ESS NYFL (Whim Creek)
I was employed by ESS NYFL as a relief Chef covering both breakfast and mains in a rostered basis. I was involved in all aspects of the kitchen / catering operation including menu preparation, ordering and meals preparation. Cooking for up to 200 customers per day.
