CV/Resume Details
1. Summary (Cover Letter) - CV/Resume Part 1 [Mandatory]

I stem from an elite naval organisation and have been serving as a uniformed member of the South African Navy for approximately seven years. In the interim I have had the distinct privilege of attending the prestigious South African Naval Academy in Gordonís Bay and receiving my functional training from Maritime Warfare Training Centre SAS SIMONSBERG in Simons Town.

As a commissioned Naval Officer, I am proud to be a part of a rich culture of distinguished gentleman where qualities such as Loyalty, Honour, Courage, Pride, Integrity and Dedication are values that are hold firm too and have become a lifestyle.

My naval career has equipped me to function not only as a leader but also as a manager. At a ripe age, I have had the distinct pleasure of having hundreds of men and women under my command, of being afforded the honour of interacting with international dignitaries and thinkers of today and the responsibilities of employing, maintaining and safeguarding strategic state assets entrusted to me.

My adventures thus far, have taken me to distant lands and through high seas. I have served in the navy in various capacities onboard naval warships and have been deployed on a substantial amount of military operations which has broadened my knowledge, experience and competencies; increasing my proficiency as a Combat Officer.

As a Combat Officer (General Duties Officer), my area of accountability and responsibility range from management and leadership of personnel. These include catering to their needs, maintaining a high standard of moral and developing skills. Notwithstanding the abovementioned areas of accountability include, ensuring the effective and efficient running of a department in order to meet operational capability and international sea going standards. Conducting constant checks and balances against strategic and operational objective standards.

I have had a wonderful and exciting career which has been self fulfilling and rewarding in terms of growth and exposure which sets me apart from most individuals. However, with the exception of rank progression, I feel that I have reached a point in my career where as I have accomplished much than I initially set out to. My intention is to venture out into the civilian world and impart my rare skills and knowledge. I am certain that my attitude and professionalism will be a great contribution to your organisation.
