I have More than 9 years of continuous employment in Electrical, Instrumentation, Tele-communication and Cathodic Protection Specialist Field and Quality Control Engineer in the Oil & Gas, Power Generation and Petrochemical construction industries. Involved in numerous major construction projects in India, Qatar, Nigeria, Kuwait, and UAE, both onshore and offshore. Past 6+ years spent working in the Middle East and Africa, mainly in Electrical Instrumentation & Telecommunication positions or as part of the client’s Project Management Team.

Extensive inspection experience gained during installation, calibration, testing, Fabrication, Hook-up, pre-commissioning and commissioning of a comprehensive range of Electrical, Instrumentation & Telecommunication. In depth knowledge of the various documentation systems required to certify completion of construction and testing.

• Reviewing project specifications, documents, drawings, data sheets & vendor manuals and identifying certifiable points related to Electrical, Instrumentation, Telecommunication & Cathodic protection system.
• Coordinating and driving the construction team activities, supervising the completions field staff for the E&I pre-commissioning & commissioning activities and arranging the commissioning spares & consumables.
• Reviewing E&I scope of work, drawings and executing the E&I construction activities in line with the project specifications and standards.
• Preparing E&I test & trial and commissioning procedures taking input from the project documents & vendor manuals and submitting for review & approval.
• Testing, pre-commissioning and commissioning the systems as per project requirements and third party inspection / class / society agencies and sign off the systems.
• Interacting & coordinating with the client, PMT, vendors & other departments and sub-contractors for the construction/completion activities. Attending progress review meetings to resolve constraints and site-conflicts.
• Administrating and deploying the field completions staff for the projects, reviewing the manpower requirement and initiating action for any requirement.
• Estimating operations man-hours and materials for E&I construction/commissioning activities for bid submission.
• Monitor the site activities and preparing the work inspection report (WIR), Material inspection report (MIR) and daily inspection schedules.
• Implement project construction quality control requirements including inspection and testing of installation and control calibrated measuring and test equipments used on the project.
• Provide general supervision and ensure all works are correctly prepared before any inspection.
• Generate, monitor, control and closeout the punch list and exception list items.

• Verify, inspect and witness ground installation on tanks and equipments, installation of general area/street/plant lighting, cable trays, underground cables, conduits, wire ways, certified equipments for hazardous classified locations and zones, packaged units, heat tracing, MOV’s, Cathodic protection (CP measurements, anodes, cables, rectifiers and field junction boxes etc.) and recommend corrective actions.
• Verify, inspect and witness of all electrical components in substations (transformers, HV & LV switchgears, control gears, bus-bars, panels, auto change over switches, voltage regulators, UPS, distribution panels, MCC panels, DG sets, battery chargers, and associated wirings).
• Erection, testing and commissioning of Power Transformers, VCB, ACB, HT & LT panels, HT & LT motors, MDP, DP, SMDP, Grounding, installation and commissioning of Lighting fixtures, street lighting, Power & Control cable Terminations, DG Sets with AMF and Synchronize panels, security systems, Fire fighting system (Hose reel, Sprinkler Bulb) and Fire Alarm System such as Smoke detectors, Heat Detectors, Manual Break Glass, Fire Alarm bell and Fire alarm control panel (FACP). Reporting daily progress to superiors, preparing project reports and as built drawings.
• Witness meggering of LV, MV & HV cables, Hi-pot test, pre commissioning of transformers, generators, MCC, motors etc.
• Supervision of execution, of all works, physical surveys, material testing at field and other works as per requirement of works Contract including Concreting work in 33/11 kV Sub-station, Erecting of poles for new 11 kV feeders

• Inspection & Installation of all various field instruments like Gauges, Transmitters, Level, Flow meters, Switches, Thermo wells, RTD, Relief Pressure Safety valves, Orifices Plates, Vibration transducer, control valves, Safety valves, gauges & switches, Control and Safety Valves, Shutdown Valves, Air Supply Manifold, Instrument Air Header, Control Panels and Accessories, Panel Instruments and Control Systems.
• Inspection & Checking of Various Instrumentation related construction Drawing/ Documents like Control Building layout, Instrument layout, Cable tray layout, Junction Box Wiring Drawing, Cable Schedule, Air Distribution Pot and JB layout & Air Distribution Pot Drawing.
• Supervision and Preparation of basic & detail engineering documents like P&ID, material requisition, specifications, data sheets , loop diagrams, logic diagrams , junction box detail, cable schedule, cable tray drawings, Instrument location plans, hook-up drawings etc.
• Ensure testing and measuring instruments used at site are periodically calibrated and having valid certificates.
• Calibration and loop check to all instruments (Temperature Controllers, control valves, Safety valves, gauges and switches etc) using calibration devices.
• Field instrumentation for system control and condition monitoring.
• Installation and Testing of pneumatic signal and Impulse Tubing.
• Fire and Gas monitoring and alarm Systems (F&G).
• Instrument Distributed Control Systems (DCS)
• Attend pre-test punch inspection and clear system to the client and initiate report.
• Cathodic Protection Survey, monitoring and cathodic protection systems installation for Tank bottoms, Plant facilities, Pipelines and reinforced concrete.
• To inspect pipelines to check for corrosion and coating damages, carry out soil resistively Surveys and holiday detection surveys to detect cracks or defects in the protective coating.
• To review the performance of transformer/rectifiers, thermo-electric generator, sacrificial Anodes, ground beds and solar energy generators, and carry out maintenance, replacement and repairs as required.
• Plant ear thing and Cathodic Protection systems.
