1. Summary (Cover Letter) - CV/Resume Part 1 [Mandatory]

To whom it may concern,

I am writing to express my interest in the position of a Chief Engineer. I believe my educational background and work experience would make me a valuable addition to the team.

My experience in the industry spans 28 years, 14 of which I have served in the position of a Chief Engineer. Since 2000, I served as a Chief Engineer on numerous vessels belonging to the Smit International, including their branches in the United States, Singapore and Canada.

In addition to a Masters degree in Marine Engineering from the Odessa State Marine Academy (Ukraine), I have the Transport of Canada Certificate of competency of First Class Chief Engineer, Motorship. I am also a Canadian citizen with a valid Canadian passport.

I had been worked for Smit Marine Canada since July 2006 to October 2010 as a Chief Engineer on board of m/v Smit Captain Bob and another powerful vessels.

Throughout my career, I was responsible for managing and supervising the engine department, ensuring the safety of the crew, investigating machinery failures and defects, as well as developing disaster preventative measures. I was responsible for operation, maintenance, inspection, repairs and overhauling of different types of engines and other auxiliary machinery.

In addition, I have strong computer skills, including proficiency with the computerized Amos Windows Maintenance and Repairs Program.

2. Work Experience - CV/Resume Part 2 [Mandatory]

SMIT, 2000 2010Chief Engineer on SMIT Captain Bob, large offshore tug, and other vessels, based out of SMIT Canada (Vancouver) since 2006 to 12 of October 2010. Also performed dry-docking duties of various vessels. Trained new crew, and performed maintenance duties on powerful new tugs, SMIT Clyde and SMIT Mississippi.Chief Engineer on SMIT Laisa and SMIT Lumut based out of SMIT Singapore between March and December 2009, performing rig moves and supply operations on the oil fields in the Persian Gulf.

Chief Engineer on SMIT Lombok and other vessels, based out of SMIT Singapore, between 2003 and 2006. Performed salvage and supply operations, anchor handling and rig moves, as well as the dry-docking duties of various vessels in Singapore.Chief Engineer on various vessels, based out of SMIT America (Houston), between 2000 and 2003, performing anchor handling and towing on U.S. and Mexican oil fields. Performed towages of heavy objects over long distances and rendered salvage assistance to ships in distress in the Bermuda Triangle. Also performed dry-docking duties of various vessels in Veracruz, Mexico.

Iranian State Shipping Company, 1996 1999 Chief engineer, holding First Class Engineer license on large bulk carrier and general cargo vessels.

Ukrainian Shipping Company, 1989 1996 First Engineer, holding Second Class Engineer license on bulk carriers, general cargo and passenger vessels.

Soviet Danube Shipping Company, 1982 1989 Second Engineer, holding Third Class Engineer license on general cargo and bulk carrier vessels.
