2. Work Experience - CV/Resume Part 2 [Mandatory]

2ND Engineer Officer, December 2008 – Present
MS Disney Magic, passenger ship with electrical propulsion of 5.8 MW

• Senior Watchkeeping Officer/Control Room Operator responsible for the operation and control of all engine room spaces and machinery, including 5 main diesel engines (power generation and associated distribution systems) and propulsion systems, monitoring all machinery space.
• In charge of all shipboard technical operations – fuel oil, diesel oil, and oily water transfer, ballasting and de-ballasting of seawater tanks to maintain ship’s stability, engine room ‘hot work’ and confined space entries.
• Maintenance responsibilities, including but not limited to, fuel oil purification and oily water separation systems, oil fired boilers and steam systems, compressed air systems, fresh water generating equipment and associated treatment plant, sewage collecting and treatment systems, fire and sprinkler systems, emergency shutdown system including all fire dampers, collision valves and quick closing valves.

3RD Engineer Officer, June 2008 – December 2008
MS Disney Magic, passenger ship with electrical propulsion of 5.8 MW

• Alternating between Hotel and Engine Room. Responsible for corrective and preventive maintenance according to the AMOS maintenance system, including troubleshooting, checking and repairing systems and equipment as listed below, and as directed by the Chief Engineer.
• Responsibilities in Hotel included: repair, maintenance and troubleshooting on all areas of the hotel side of ship, refrigeration plant, HVAC plant and climate control computer, plumbing and waste water management system (EVAC system), all galley and bar equipment, pools, Jacuzzis, and spa equipment, laundry and launderette equipment, deck machinery, hydraulics, pneumatics, life raft and lifeboat equipment, safety equipment, and fixed firefighting systems.
• Supervised 12 assistants in the above-stated maintenance and in work-related passenger interaction.
• Responsibilities in Engine Room included: repair, maintenance and troubleshooting on five diesel engines and electric propulsion system, auxiliary systems, stabilizers, steering gear and grey water systems.

3RD Engineer Officer, 2007–2008
MS Maasdam, passenger ship with electrical propulsion of 3.6 MW

• In charge of planning routine and unplanned equipment maintenance
• Ensured the following were carried out in accordance with company policy and safety standards: diagnosis and fault-finding, risk assessment of all work that was undertaken, shutting down and isolating the equipment that was worked on, liaising with necessary personnel to assist or carry out jobs, utilized spare parts when necessary and ensured appropriate replacement stock was reordered.
• In charge of the day service main plant maintenance team.
• Responsible for the monitoring, evaluation and maintenance of the ship’s five 4-stroke, medium speed diesel engines and the maintenance of fuel oil booster systems, lubricating oil systems, all cooling water systems, grey water plant, shafting, stabilizers, and ballast system. Gave guidance to the 2nd engineers regarding their maintenance, as listed above.
• Supervised 5 assistants to ensure that all machinery spaces were clean and in good condition.
• Ensured that the ‘permit to work’ procedures were adhered to at all times.
• Provided training in safe working practices.

4TH Engineer Officer, 2006–2007
MS Maasdam, passenger ship with electrical propulsion of 3.6 MW

• Watchkeeping shifts carried out in engine room machinery.
• Responsible for the day to day running of the ship and all plant within the engine spaces, including but not limited to preparing engine plant for starting and stopping of propulsion systems and engines, monitoring of temperatures, levels and condition of all machinery in engine spaces.
• Responsible for maintenance of various machinery, reported to second engineer.
• Worked in day service fully in charge of Advanced Waste Water Purification System (AWWPS) – “Zenon,” for maintenance and proper work of Unit and all equipment.
• Helped 3rd engineer (Engine Room Maintenance Manager) with all LO and FO Purifier maintenance, and other related works.
