Operations Supervisor (from July 2007 to present)
 I am presently the Marine Operations Supervisor onboard FSO Modec Venture 12. The FSO (Floating, Storage and Offloading) is moored with eight anchor chains on a swivel turret in the 85-meter deep Nam Con Basin, Southern Vietnam. MV12 is a purpose-built storage tanker delivered in August 2006. It receives the condensate produced from the PUQC (Process, Utilities, Quarters and Compression) of Rong Doi Gas Field through subsea flow line, flexible riser and fluid swivel. I am the overall in-charge of Marine Operations and the safety of all personnel onboard in close liaison with the Facility Manager. The offshore oil production is a round-the-clock operation analogous to any petroleum terminal. The stored condensate is exported according to the instructions of our client, KNOC (Korea National Oil Company). I must ensure that offtake operations are well organized, from preparations, tanker approach to moor in tandem with the FSO and safe transfer of the cargo along with the necessary documentations. The FSO is manned by expatriate senior officers and Vietnamese crew. Shore logistics of Modec Vietnam Operations is based in Vungtau City, SRV. (www.modec.com)
Operations Officer (from Nov 2006 to July 2007)
 I served as Operations Officer (Chief Mate) onboard FPSO Modec Venture 1. The FPSO (Floating Production Storage and Offloading) is connected to an oil riser linked to the Elang and Kakatua Oilfield in between Australia and East Timor. MV1 is classed as an oil tanker when it is disconnected from the riser during hurricane season or en route to/from routine dry-docking. It has operational navigational equipment and propulsion which can be mobilized under short notice. Part of my responsibilities is to manage the cargo produced into the cargo tanks and decanting the on-carried water content of the Elang Ultralight Crude Oil. I am also responsible for planning and supervising the offloading of the cargo into designated shuttle tankers that moors in tandem with the FPSO. I also need to see to it that all planned maintenance jobs onboard are completed safely in accordance with the strict Permit To Work System (PTW). The personnel aboard is composed of various nationalities. Besides Filipinos, there are Australians, Indonesians, Indians, Timorese, British and Polish. I am responsible for organizing the routine storing and backload via the assigned supply boat including e-mail and other correspondence to shore logistics. The management office of MV1 is based in Jakarta, Indonesia while the shore logistics base is situated in Darwin, Australia. (www.modec.com)

 As Chief Officer, I gained valuable experience being in-charge of various petroleum cargoes and the associated documentations carried from long-haul worldwide trades to short cross-harbor voyages.
 I handled both black and white cargoes ranging from crude oils to heated cargoes such as LSWR; to various clean petroleum products such as motor gasolines, Jet fuels, naphtha, condensates, etc.
