I have more than 25 years of experience working in multidisciplinary environment constructing full-field Reservoir Simulation models using state of the art tools and performing Classical Reservoir Engineering Studies worldwide.
I have performed full-field reservoir simulation studies in Europe, Russia, Latin America, Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. The simulation studies include Black Oil, Compositional using EOS, and Fractured Reservoirs (dual porosity and dual permeability) models and reservoir management of tight gas and gas condensate reservoirs.
In 1990 I was awarded the Chevron-Texaco “Bottom Line Award”. This award was for my fractured reservoir simulation of the Skjold Field (North Sea), which resulted in a more profitable strategy.

I worked in a multidisciplinary team evaluating the development options for Shell Egypt ultra deep-water tight gas cluster reservoirs. This involves full field development planning including appraisal well test design, well count optimization for maximum ROI and concept screening of development options. Options evaluated include subsea to beach, floating production systems and shallow water platforms. The reservoir engineering work included building full field dynamic models using Gap, Prosper and Mbal for generating production profiles, Saphire for well test analysis and design, and dynamic reservoir simulation sector models for parametric sensitivity analysis and management of uncertainties. QA/QC and peer assist initiatives were carried out.


Exxon Mobil, Houston, TX 2002 – Feb. 2004
Sr. Staff Engineer
Evaluated Eclipse fractured reservoir simulation models performed by partners and delivered several presentations to management and provided the necessary information for decision-making on field development. Converted older proprietary reservoir simulation models (Pegasus and Mars) to EMpower most recent in-house reservoir simulation software. Helped to select new infill wells location in order to maximize oil recovery. Provided one-on-one user training, including more specialized reservoir engineering concepts. Helped engineers to build and optimize their reservoir simulation models in order to maximize the ultimate recovery from different fields.

Supervising a team of multi disciplinary professionals that acts as a regulatory body administering various Western multi national companies in operating QP fields. Worked in a multidisciplinary environment and constructed dynamic full field compositional reservoir simulation of San Joaquin field. A tight gas condensate cluster reservoirs located in western Venezuela, dynamic compositional simulation models using several EOS formulations to capture specific compositional issues in the field, 64 years of history matched with 184 wells, prediction, sensitivity analysis, management of uncertainties and investigated future behavior of reservoirs under varying operating strategies using ECLIPSE 300 compositional simulation software.
Lake Maracaibo - Multidisciplinary team leader - Constructed of full-field reservoir simulation of several fields using ECLIPSE 100 and 300-simulation software.
Caracas - Multidisciplinary team leader - Evaluated infill opportunity in a cluster of mature fields in eastern Venezuela. Duties involved the assessment of water injection, pressure analysis; sweep efficiency and production history of the offset wells and presentation of selected infill candidates to managements.
San Tome / El Tigre: Team Leader - Used classical reservoir engineering method to constructed dynamic full-field simulation models using Eclipse simulation software, history matching, and prediction of field performance, sensitivity/uncertainty studies and evaluated different depletion strategies to develop Oritupano and Leona fields. Taught reservoir engineering courses and trained engineers from Perez Companc and PDVSA to perform reservoir simulation studies.


PEMEX, Mexico 1995-1998 1995 - 1998
Reservoir Engineering Team Lead – Onshore/Offshore Gulf of Mexico, GOM
Extensive classical reservoir engineering work entailing reservoir mapping, pressure transient analysis, water injection patterns analysis, material balance, water influx, sweep efficiency, and production history analysis to achieve maximum profitable recovery from the reservoir by determining and developing the most efficient production methods. The simulation model was continuously updated to include new wells and geologic interpretation and predicted future performance, time of breakthrough, refinement of production/injection strategy, and screening of future development scenarios.
Gorm Field (North Sea - Denmark)
Constructed full field simulation of “A-Block” reservoir and performed history matching and evaluated different operating strategies to develop the field.
Sulele South-2 Field (Offshore Angola)
Performed full field reservoir simulation studies, history matched the performance of lower zone in Sulele South-2 well and used simulation models to predict future well behavior.
