I would like to apply for this position and have attached a copy of my CV. I am currently in the process of submitting an application for a Canadian permanent residence visa and, if successful, would be looking to move to Canada sometime within the next year. I have also booked flights and accommodation for a week from the 23rd February to 2nd March to visit Vancouver and arrange to meet with recruiters. If at all possible, I would like to secure employment before leaving the UK.

Petrofac Facilities Management Sept 2005-Present
From September 2005 until the present I have been employed by Petrofac facilities management Ltd as an operations technician on the Montrose Alpha, Dunbar and North Alwyn production platforms. My roles and responsibilities have been similar to those of when I was with Maersk. In addition to the operations technician role I have also had limited exposure to the control room which is an area that I would like to develop and further my career.
Maersk Contractors Aug 2004-Sept 2005
From August 2004 until September 2005 I was employed by Maersk Contractors as an operations technician on board the Floating Production, Storage and offloading vessel North Sea Producer. My areas of responsibility were oil and gas separation, produced water treatment and disposal, gas compression and re-injection and chemical sampling and analysis. As well as routine sampling of oil and gas export.
Expro North Sea Sept 2003-Aug 2004
After completing my Degree I returned to employment with Expro North Sea Ltd as a production operator on the jack up rig Rowan Gorilla 7. I was responsible for operation and monitoring of the oil and gas production train as well as routine sampling and analysis of export crude, overboard water discharge and gas composition.
Weatherford DIS Manufacturing Jan 2001-Oct 2002
From January 2001 until October 2002 I was employed by Weatherford DIS manufacturing as a mechanical and hydraulic technician. I was responsible for the manufacture and testing of new build hydraulic power packs and coiled tubing units. I was also responsible for the repair and overhaul of existing units. I left in October 2002 to return to university where I completed my Degree in Mechanical engineering.
Wood Group Light Industrial Turbines Nov 1998-Jan 2001
From November 1998 until January 2001 I was employed by Wood Group gas turbines as a gas turbine technician responsible for the repair and overhaul of light industrial gas turbine units such as Alsthom TA and TB range, Solar Centaur and Centurion. I was also responsible for the building and balancing of rotating compressor rotor and power turbine units.
BAKER HUGHES INTEQ Aug 1997 – Nov 1998
From June 1997 until November 1998 I was employed By Baker Hughes Inteq as a mechanical technician responsible for the overhaul and repair of MWD and LWD equipment. This encompasses stripping and building down hole tools as well as stripping, building and repair of suspension units, mechanical transmitter package and also all associated subassemblies.

From August 1992 until August 1997 I was employed by Shell U.K Exploration and Production as an operations and mechanical maintenance trainee on their technician-training scheme at the St Fergus gas plant.
