Career Summary/Objectives
Having started my career as an Electronic Weapons Technician in the South African Navy I am a well disciplined team player. This stood me in good stead later working in machine build, R&D, High speed production, training and management.
With the wealth of knowledge and experience gained over the years, together with a Diploma in Training, it seem almost wasteful not to train, guide and coach prospective candidates.

2. Work Experience - CV/Resume Part 2 [Mandatory]


2004 – Present - West Coast Engineering & Training: One division of this company provides Electrical/Electronic maintenance, fault finding and design to local industry. The other division trains Math’s, Science, Electrical Trade Theory & Electronics to privately enrolled technical students in the local F.E.T. college. Install, Maintain, Trouble shoot, program PLC’s, Design.

1998 - 2003 Tower Networking: Started this I.T. company as a networking and thin client solution provider (Server centric computing). Imported equipment directly from Singapore. Ran the ORACLE centre of excellence and was a CITRIX channel partner. The company was also a sub-contractor to government on security installations. RFID asset tracking, active and passive, PLC’s, Facial recognition camera systems, fire safety systems, P.C.’s Servers.

1994 - 1998 Technical Services: Worked as a consultant/technical advisor/trainer on a contractual basis for the previous company of employ. Gas fired temperature controlled ovens, PLC’s, Printing, Fault finding, design, installation, repair, Technical training, Supervisor training, Safety training.

1988 - 1993 Metal Closure Group: Started as Engineering Superintendent, In charge of both Electrical & Mechanical workshops, (15 artisans). Managed technical department including projects, budgets, Human resources. Installed and commissioned the first Duet cap line in S.A. (Plastic Coke Tops). Designed and implemented a Preventive maintenance system. Started a training department and ended as Production Manager, 450 staff, of the metal closure factory.

1984 - 1988 Crown Cork Co.: Electrical foreman, build an commissioned first two-piece can line in S.A. Managed 6 staff , ordering, planning, Designed and implemented a Preventive maintenance system. Fault finding, design, installation, repair.

1982 - 1984 LEYLAND S.A.: Worked as an Electrical maintenance technician in the engine build department. , Fault finding, design, installation, repair.

1978 - 1982 SADF- Navy: Trained as an Electrical weapons Technician. Was at SAS Scorpion (Durban), SAS Minesweeping Base (Simons town), Navors 3 (Mine Hunter). Sonar, Radar, Weapons computation, ROV operator, Preventive maintenance, installation and repair.

N4: 3 year Tertiary Technicon Trade(equiv. City and Guilds)
Math’s, Science, Electrical trade theory, Electronics, Mechanotechniques, Strength of materials. Also Technical drawing, Radio theory, Radar & Sonar, Synchro’s & Servo’s, Digital techniques, Missiles, Gun turrets, Fire control radar (SADF Navy)

Trainer Development Diploma: 1 year (Post graduate studies)
Training needs analysis, Program Design, Presentation skills, follow-up and evaluation
