I have over 30 years experience of fabrication and welding, including 3 years offshore. I am very safety conscious and have extensive involvement in the offshore safety management systems, and I am also currently working towards my NEBOSH General Certificate. I am very adaptable and always willing to learn new skills. I possess both excellent communication and reasoning skills and work equally well alone or within a team. I have achieved my N.E.B.S.M. (national examination board of supervisory management).

Dec 08 – Present: Offshore Welder/Fabricator
Duties include: All repairs and new fabrication projects, planning and design, material selection, marking out, construction and finally installation. Ensuring that all the relevant safe systems of work and relevant paperwork connected is adequate and current, and that the workplace remains a safe environment for all. I also look after the stock of consumables etc and make purchase requisitions to the chief engineer. I also have a good working knowledge of the mechanical and deck crew departments. I am also a safety rep, coxswain, fire team member and part of the helideck crew.

I ensured that the projects were completed on time and to specification. I also ensured that all the relevant health and safety legislation were adhered to. I was the first point of call for the employees within the management structure. I also was required to weld to x-ray standards on a variety of projects.
