Nowadays I work at Compelmada International, s.a. Portugal.

Since February 2007 till today I´ve been designing all isometrics (around 300) and piping layouts with CAD pipe 2D and 3D (similar to cadworkx) for an Geothermal Plant in the Azores islands to a company named ORMAT (specialized in Geothermal Plants) as well as steel structures and supports with Parabuild (Cad 3d application for steel design similar to X-Steel).
Along with this a detail engineering of a New Hard Black Reactor Project for DEGUSSA in Sines is being taking in course which includes equipments, Steel Structure, piping and supports. Also detail engineering of two new furnaces for ABB Heat Transfer Division. After finishing the two furnaces, working preparation of a Turn Over in a Petrochemical Plant Repsol in Sines and several inquiry’s. Along this, I was also managing a technical office.


From May 2005 till December, I’ve been involved in the G.O.P. (Clean Gasoline) Project by A.B.B. in Sweden which includes an Hydrogen and Isocracker plant’s construction as an Industrial Accounter. The work consists on pricing each isometric on factoring system basis, having to identify the piping actions, supports, NDE’s, corrosion protection, etc. according to spec’s, and if quantities are correct.


From September 2003 till the end of the year, I was responsible for the working preparation of two furnaces for Selas Linde in Borealis Plant; Bidding, working preparation and engineering of piping and supports for process interconnections and firewater systems using CAD Pipe on Galp Energia OilRefinery;
Assign for basic and detail engineer a project to “Projecto Detalhe” company a Contaminated Water Pound Treatment unit, including P&ID, Piping layout and its supports for piping till 18’’.
Bidding, working preparation and engineering of piping, supports and steel structures for a 12 Bed PSA valve Skid for U.O.P.; Bidding, working preparation and engineering of 30´´ piping and supports for Sines Harbour.


During July and August 2003 piping crossovers, coils and supports where drafted and prepared for a Furnace Revamp in France to final client TECHNIP Benelux.


Bids (technical and commercial part) of all kind of industrial equipments, steel structures, piping continue parallel to previous referred works.


Drafting, detail engineering of several pipelines and supports for Galp Energia Oil Refinery with CAD pipe 3D software with automatic isometric and Bill Of Material Generation.


Drafting of steel structures, tanks, etc, with steel3d software as well as working preparation.


May 2003 Drafting, detail engineer, working preparation of two furnaces revamp with 120 burners each for the project company “Selas Linde” to Borealis (revamping coils, burner piping, burners, crossovers, cover boxes, refractory lining, steam generation system, steel structure, etc.


April 2003, in between the LNG project, I was in charge of drafting, detail engineer, working preparation of a 20m high furnace, it’s ducts to stack (with 2m wide), piping equipment connection, coils and engineering also a steel structure to transport the coils from Sines to Porto Refinery (mention that the coils had the biggest one 11m length to 6m tall and the distance about 600Km).


September 2003 returning back to Portugal, I was assigned to detail engineer, working preparation, stock materials and the invoice of 400 tons of steel structure and all the FireWater piping around the plant, in the construction of an LNG (liquefied natural gas) Port in Sines by “TRACTEBEL, engineering int.”.


March 2002 designated to manage materials, field working preparation, and idealize all piping ( Routings, Isometrics, Supports, P&ID as built situation, punch and test lists ) of a power plant (basic engineering CATERPILLAR)in the “Cape Verde Islands” Sal, participate in the construction of similar plants in other “Cape Verde Islands” as São Vicente and Santiago.


February 2002, detail engineering and working preparation of 33 tanks to “Cape Verde Islands”.


March 2001 designated to manage, field working preparation, supports detail engineer, steel structure, piping routing’s, test packs and as-built’s of a Hydrogen Plant in PETROGAL, Petroleos de Portugal for “Linde G.M.B.H.”


The work followed with success doing the same thing´s to 100 000m3 Tanks floating roof tanks, piping, equipments, etc., to companies like “Linde G.M.B.H.”, ABB-Lummus”, “TECHNIP Portugal”, etc.


October 2000 returning back to Compelmada Internacional, s.a., I was assigned to detail engineer a steel structure, hand railing and stairs with 5 floors, working preparation ( all in AutoCAD 2 and 3D) , stock materials and check field assembly to “TECHNIP Portugal” .


In the summer of 2000 I was teaching English classes and a bit of Spanish and French.


On December 98 I have received theoretical-practical classes during 18th months, about Catalytic process units, Distillation units, Flare unit, Utilities within an oil refinery, Succour, Process safety, etc..
The theoretical part consisted on P&Id´s interpretation, Instruments, Fluid mechanics, Exchangers functioning, Distillation columns, Furnaces, Boilers, Pumps, Valves, Chemistry, Process, etc..


On the February 98 I’ve been invited to assist of Mechanical Desktop 3 ,
Genius 14 and Radam Auto SM 1.2 on the attempt to buy an innovative software to the company.


With constant growing volume of work and my professional knowledge, I´ve started developing AutoCAD in the company, associated with working preparation and detail engineering of big project’s such as the ones already mentioned.


By the way I was developing more and better work, I’ve started on the working preparation of a 48” pipeline, heath exchangers, transporters, process columns etc, for the whole market around Sines industrial area.
