Please note, that I have worked as Customer Engineer with M/s. Pertech Computers Ltd. India, for a period of 2 years. The job involved installation/maintenance of computers and training customers.

I have worked as Radio Officer in the Merchant Navy for 22 years (including offshore Drill Ship) on regular foreign going ships. During this tenure, I was involved in wireless/satellite communications/maintenance and imparting technical/safety training to various nationality crew under mixed cultural environment and all onboard administrative responsibilities.

I have worked as Radio Operator on Offshore Support Vesssel for 2 years. The job involved operation/maintenance of onboard Navigation/communication equipments and complete documentation.

In addition, I have worked as Chief Instructor for over 4 years in a Maritime Training Institute of international standard. During this tenure, I was responsible for imparting training (GMDSS) to all officers and implementation/documentation of ISO 9001:2000 QMS.

Hence, with my substantial experience in the relevant field with strong technical acumen, I am fully confident of smooth and successful operation of the said position.

I have been exposed to cosmopolitan environment for the entire period and possess strong communications skills with keen interest in learning at all times and ability to lead a team and work as a team member. EXPERIENCE :

1. Served as Customer Engineer with M/s. Pertech Computers Ltd., New Delhi, for a period of 2 years (1985-86). The job involved installation/maintenance of computers and training customers.

2. Served as Radio Officer in the Merchant Navy for 22 years (including Drill Ship), from 1976 till 2005 (except 1985-86, 1994-96 & 1999-2003) on regular foreign going ships. The job involved:

a) Operation / maintenance / trouble shooting of the following Wireless/Satellite Communication & Navigation equipments used on board ships.

MF/HF/VHF/UHF Transmitter/Receiver, Radar, SSB, Satellite Comms.–A,C,M& mini-M, Digital Selective Calling System, Radio Telex, Echo Sounder(Sonar), Satnav, GPS, DGPS, AIS, Fax, EPIRB, SART, GMDSS, Gyro Compass, Auto Pilot. Also fully conversant with offshore operation - SSB/VHF/Helicopter Radio, Radar watch, Emergency Action Plan/ Medical Evacuation/MET warning and maintaining documents etc.

b) - Maintained all onboard networked computers for e-mail/internet systems.
- Imparted training on safety & management to various nationality crew. Said training provided as per ISM (International Safety Management) HSE norms.
- Fully conversant with ISM documentation and preparation for audit.

3. Served as Radio Operator for 2 years (1994-96) onboard Offshore Support Vessel. The job involved operation/maintenance of Radio/Navigational equipments used onboard (VHF/SSB/Telex). Communications with Offshore Base Station, Chopper Landing, crew embarkation/disembarkation, Time Sheet & all related reports/documentations.


4. Served as Chief Instructor for 4 years and 4 months (1999 – 2003), for GMDSS GOC (Marine/Offshore) course with Radio Marine Institute, Kolkata, India (ISO 9001:2000 certified and D.G.Shipping approved institute). The job involved:

- Counseling delegates from all over India and neighbouring countries.
- Preparing Technical/Instruction Manuals, Handouts, Course Syllabus etc.
- Imparting training to all Navigating Officers (including Masters).
- Management/ maintenance of LAN.
- Documentation/implementation of ISO 9001:2000 for audit purpose.
- Dealing with venders/suppliers/Govt. officials.
- Recruiting officers for placement.

5. Presently engaged as Radio Officer in the Merchant Navy with Iranian National Company (IRISL). The responsibilities are similar to item No.2 above.

1) Passed Higher Secondary Examination from West Bengal Board of Secondary Education, Kolkata.
2) Passed 2 years condensed course on Wireless telegraphy & Telephony from the George Telegraph Training Institute, Kolkata.
3) Passed and possess Certificate of Proficiency and License in Wireless Telegraphy & Telephony, issued by the Ministry of Communications, Govt. of India (the said certificate is equivalent to Diploma in Electronics & Telecommunications engineering).
4) Possess GMDSS (Global Maritime Distress & Safety Systems) GOC (General Operator’s Certificate), issued by the Ministry of Communications, Govt. of India.
5) Passed 6 months certificate course on Computer Hardware & Network Engineering.
