I am working with Costamare Shipping on board of container vessels as Marine Electrical Engineer. I would like to apply for a position within your company’s Electrical Department. I have over 15 years of experience to offer you and I attach my resume as a first step in exploring the possibilities of working with your company. My professional skill consists in performing the complete maintenance and repair of vessels’ electrical system. I am responsible for various duties including but not limited to the operational integrity, maintenance, installation/removal of electrical equipment, repair and documentation of the entire electrical systems and equipment comprising all automation and refrigeration and air-conditioning systems, all electrical power generation sources including 6.6kV medium voltages, rectifiers and circuits, step down transformers, power distribution equipment, electrical motors and controllers, performing diagnostic tests and troubleshooting system faults and failures of all electrical equipment down to the component level. The ultimate objective of this position is to ensure that on board our vessels the electrical power is supplied where and when needed, that all electrical systems are within safety and regulatory body compliance standards and all electrical equipment remains operative throughout the operation and most important, the vessels downtime will be avoided as much as possible.
I am familiar with the rules required by the classification societies such as Germanischer Lloyd, American Bureau of Shipping and I have been assisting U.S. Coast Guard inspections. As an Electrical Engineer with your organization I would bring a focus on quality work and ease of use to your system development. Furthermore, I work well with others, I can easily find contacts and communicate via e-mail or phone with technical support departments of manufacturers of our electrical equipment and I am well experienced in some additional professional activities such refrigerating and air-conditioning systems repair and maintenance and machine lathe operation.
Although my most experience has a marine background, I am efficient at performing all duties required for electrically maintaining an automated control of electrical / mechanical equipment; I understand the principles of automatic mechanisms and their associated electrical control systems.
