During my study years worked as a car electronics technician, mainly installing alarms, phones and stereo systems.
During my marine education I did my apprenticeship on a semi-submersible vessel for Wijsmuller. I worked in both Deck and Engine departments.
On completion of technical university besides a degree I also received a licence for engineer and deck officer.
After which I started working for Holland America Line as assistant engineer, and have since worked my way up to Chief Engineer over an 10 year period.. During this time I have been watch keeper, maintained hotel technical department, such as laundry, kitchen, bar, AC, refrigerator and electrical equipment.
As Chief Engineer responsible for all technical aspects of a large cruise ship with around 70 staff. Such as Engineer officers, electricians, Facility manager, It officers, Safety officer, Engine maintenance manager and ratings
