· Evaluation of the loads exerted on the equipment by piping, against the criteria provided by the equipment manufacturer or relevant codes/standards like NEMA SM 23, API 610, and WRC 297/107 etc.
· Calculations to check stability and integrity of buried pipeline like upheaval buckling check, buoyancy lift check, ring buckling check etc
· Flange leakage and stress calculations resulting from piping moments and forces
· Min pipe wall thickness calculations, branch reinforcement pad calculations and local stress calculations at support point etc.
· Selection and design of pipe supports
· Selection of special components, needed to meet piping stress requirements, like expansion joints, spring hangers.
· Checking of Piping Plans/Isometrics to ensure incorporation of piping stress analysis requirements.
· Preparation of Stress Analysis Model drawing from piping isometrics/plans, P&IDs and other relevant documents
· Preparation of piping stress analysis proposals.
Lead Piping Stress Engineer
I had been the lead piping stress engineer in Descon Engineering and JGC Descon Engineering for about 5 years to manage the piping stress analysis work related to different projects awarded to the company. As lead stress engineer I was responsible for.
· Estimating, scheduling, planning, and monitoring of project stress analysis activities
· Preparation of piping stress execution procedures.
· Coordination with other design groups for piping stress analysis
· Review of the analysis performed by the subordinates to ensure realistic modeling and meeting of the analysis requirements.
· Guidance to less experienced engineers for piping stress analysis.
· In-House training related to piping stress to other engineers and designers
Other Experience:
I possess excellent skills of computer programming, which I have effectively utilized to provide customized solutions for piping design calculations. Examples include
· Developing an application in Access to facilitate preparation of piping load information for Civil
