I hereby send you my application with reference to your search.

I am 54 years of age. I by now know that this is not to an advantage when you are looking for a new challenge in life. However I by hart know that however hires me will employ a responsible person who have an enormous work capacity and who is utmost loyal.

I consider myself to be highly qualified within all fields of construction/mechanical/piping /material. I have a vast experience as manager in conjunction with a commercial touch (building relation with clients) and deliveries to large projects. Also I have been working internationally in almost all my life. Moreover I have been living in Saudi Arabia for some four years.

My career up to now

I was graduated as bachelor within construction 1972. After the military service I was employed as construction engineer at a company called VBB, today Sweco. The group I was working for designed mainly water treatment plants and transmission lines. Therefore I early became a “water and sewage man”. As such I was working with heavy mechanical equipments as pumps and valves.

I started as field surveyor for projects related to the treatment field. After some years I was appointed construction/mechanical supervisor.

In 1975 I was asked to go to Saudi Arabia as a field surveyor to make the setting out for various projects in Saudi. This included the establishment of benchmarks on sites and the actual setting out for the building construction. I made this in Riyadh, Jeddah and Dhahran.

During my stay in Saudi I was asked if I could consider to be stationed in Saudi. I accepted this and moved to Saudi in 1974.

First I worked as Pipe Supply Engineer. My task was to purchase and approve all pipe materials, valves, fittings and pumps from dimension 32 mm up to dimension 800 mm, to the running projects in Riyadh within the project to supply the Riyadh Municipality with water. In this role I had to receive the approval from the Ministry to execute the actual purchase. Also I had to see to that delivered material fulfilled the correct standards (ISO, DIN, ASTM etc) and that the quality was correct. I also made inspections of factories and therefore travelled within Saudi. In this task was also included the supply and approval of all material to the Operation & Maintenance to the Riyadh Water supply.

Later on I was appointed supervisor for the installations within Riyadh water supply. This task included day to day supervision of the execution of the installations as well the concrete works involved. Also I initiated progress meetings, made final inspections and solved contractual disputes. In my case the contract was, in today’s value, 75 000 000 € and a Saudi contractor, Al Rashid. I also worked with contractors from India, Pakistan, Germany, Greece, Italy and Korea,

At the end of my stationing I became chief supervisor. As such I was responsible for supervision teams, payments to the contractors and final quality inspections. In this task was also included tender evaluation and recommendation to the Ministry of Agriculture and Water for the appointment of new contractors.

I came back to Sweden 1979. In Sweden, at VBB, I continued to work with Saudi and to negotiate the final financial settlement between the RSAF (Royal Saudi Airforce) and the contractor Ballast Nedam. This included financial settlement for extra work carried out and included all disciplines within building such as electrical, mechanical and building.

After a while I started to look for work and started as a technical salesman in 1979. I worked with pipe materials and fittings for mainly hospitals. In this task I had an advisory role to the design engineers.

Later I became head of sale for a wholesaler. In this role I worked with all pipematerials and fittings within housing, including HVAC.

In 1989 I was headhunted for a position as managing director for a company working with radiators for water borne heating. I accepted this challenge. I transformed this company, Epecon AB, to be the major player on the Swedish market. I was also responsible for all international contacts. I also started up an export division for to export radiators and accessories to Japan.

I had also the responsibility to innovate new products. Some of these products are today standard on the market in Sweden.

I acquired the company Epecon in 1994 and in 2000 I sold the company to a Norwegian firm.

The company Epecon had a turnover of 10 000 000 €.

After the sale I was approached by a Czech firm working with radiators. Thus I started a new company in 2002, Varma VVS.

Today I am working within Varma VVS.

This is me

Most of all I am a team player and a team builder. My belief is that the team is a strong force if all members go in the same direction. To do this, the team must have a strong leader. I am that leader.

Also I consider my self to be a stand alone guy, who can take unpleasant decisions whenever necessary.

As manager I am skilled to see the potential in people. I am humbled but clear in contacts. I set goals for myself as well as for the team. I am known to reach the goals which are set out.

I am an outstanding negotiator who can deal with personnel, clients, contractors and other parties concerning salary, prices, execution and techniques. Hence I understand to create and develop positive contacts with all parties involved.

From a technical point of view I am very skilled in almost all fields of engineering / mechanical / construction / piping. Over the years I have gained knowledge through experience. Today, I frequently act as advisor to consultants how to solve a technical problem within water and heating distribution in buildings. I am excellent in reading drawings and understand all technical issues, whatever the disciplines are. I have the knowledge, in case of different opinion, to suggest solutions within the financial frames at hand.

I am daily working with balance sheets and financial result, and I am well aware of the fact that there are financial demands from the parties involved. Also I understand the necessity to have a chain of command as well as a developed principle for reports.

I have dealt with legal disputes within construction. Also I have knowledge of the frame rule system as FIDIC.

I am a skilled computer user and the handling of all the known software including CAD.

I speak and write English fluently. I also speak German fluently. I also have a feeling for the Arabic language.

I am skilled to perform before an auditorium.

I believe in a multicultural society. I also understand how to behave in different cultures. As a former employer and a human being I set personal quality before colour, religion, sex, sexual orientation and ethnical belonging.

I have an open attitude towards people and have the understanding to show empathy.

Something about my person

I was born in Malmoe, Sweden, in March 1953. I am today living in Helsingborg, Sweden. I am married for the second time. My wife is ten years younger then me. We have a daughter, Matilda, today 9.

On my spare time I do plenty of exercise such as weightlifting and jogging. I also play some golf. I read a lot and enjoy cooking food with friend. I am never ill and do regularly health exam. I do not use drugs/medication of any kind.

I understand that working abroad is connected with hardship, including the heat. Also I know that one have to be flexible and adjust your self to the situation at hand.

This is why I apply

Honestly, I have reached that point in my life when I wish to make the last turn. My utmost desire is to contribute a last time, the tougher challenge, the better, and preferably abroad.

Moreover I consider my self to be highly qualified and fitted to work abroad. I am today 54 years of age and I am looking for the opportunity to once more work abroad, and to end my career abroad. Therefore I am looking for a long lasting possibility. I can also consider other appointments.

I have a mobilization time of an absolute maximum of 8 weeks .

I have nothings against travelling in my work.

Regarding salary this is up to coming negotiations as the salary is depending on the total concept as flight home, accommodation etc. My aim is somewhere in between 5500 to 6500€ per month.
