• Joined as Geologist(Jr.) through UPSC at Trivandrum on 30th.Sept.1975.

Carried out systematic geological mapping, preliminary and detailed mineral investigations in the districts of Trivandrum, Quilon, Alleppey, Trichur, Idduki and Wynad. Mineral exploration includes exploration for Clay, Chrysoberyl and Molybdynum. Also was part time Guest Lecturer at Marine Geology Division, University of Cochin, Ernakulam (Peri0d 1975 – 1981)

Worked as Geologist(Jr.), Southern Region, Hyderabad in DORIS(Division of Regional Integrated Surveys) and Carried out mineral Exploration for Base Metals and Precious Metals(Copper, Zinc, Lead and Gold) in the States of Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. Work involved Geophysical and Geochemical Surveys and detailed Exploration by Drilling (Period 1981 – 1984)

• Worked as Geologist(Jr), North Eastern Region Shillong. Carried out Geological Mapping and Mineral Exploration and Environmental Geological Mapping and Geotechnical Investigations in the States of Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland. Work involved Exploration for Base Metals, Landform Mapping and Environmental Impact Studies, Terrain Mapping and Ge0technical Investigations for Multipurpose Projects at Karbi Anglong and Ranga Nadi. Also Ass0ciated with Border Roads and GREF in planning Roads in Arunachal Pradesh.

• Between 1991 and 1992 worked as Head of Office, North Eastern Region. Work involved Planning, monitoring and Supervision of Investigations in NER, Liaison with State Govt Officials and North Eastern Council besides Administrative work of the Region. Promoted as Geologist (Sr.) in March 1985.(Period 1984 – 1992)

• Worked as Geologist(Sr.) Southern Region, Hyderabad, Operations Laboratories and Research and Operations Andhra Pradesh. Work involved Laboratory and Research activities and mineral exploration for Gold and diamonds.

• Was Head of Office 1995 – 1997.

• Voluntarily Retired in May 1997.

• Consultant for Orissa Tourism Department, Govt. Of Orissa. Surveyed the entire Orissa Coast for identification of places to be developed as Tourist Spots.

• Consultant for Coates India Ltd. Work involved identification of waste streams, reduction and management and solid waste management.

• Consultant Geologist, Project Jal Nirmal, a World Bank assisted Karnataka Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Project. Worked in Raichur District. Activities included ground water investigations, source identification, drilling, quarry management for road works under the project and liaison with State Mining and Geology and Other Officials of the Zilla Panchayat and Deputy Commissioner.
