Dear Sir,
I am employed by SMIT – world leader in offshore services, on board of jack up Lisa as Electrical Engineer. I would like to apply for a position within your company’s Electrical Department. I have over 15 years of experience to offer you and I attach my resume as a first step in exploring the possibilities of working with your company. My professional skill consists in performing the complete maintenance and repair of vessels’ electrical system. I am responsible for various duties including but not limited to the operational integrity, maintenance, installation/removal of electrical equipment, repair and documentation of the entire electrical systems and equipment comprising all automation and refrigeration and air-conditioning systems, all electrical power generation sources including 6.6kV medium voltages, rectifiers and circuits, step down transformers, power distribution equipment, electrical motors and controllers, performing diagnostic tests and troubleshooting system faults and failures of all electrical equipment down to the component level. The ultimate objective of this position is to ensure that on board our vessels the electrical power is supplied where and when needed, that all electrical systems are within safety and regulatory body compliance standards and all electrical equipment remains operative throughout the operation and most important, the vessels downtime will be avoided as much as possible.

I am familiar with the rules required by the classification societies such as Germanischer Lloyd, American Bureau of Shipping and I have been assisting U.S. Coast Guard inspections. As an Electrical Engineer within your organization I would bring a focus on quality work to your system development. Furthermore, I work well with others, I can easily find contacts and communicate via e-mail or phone with technical support departments of manufacturers of our electrical equipment and I am well experienced in some additional professional activities such refrigerating and air-conditioning systems repair and maintenance and machine lathe operation.
Although my most experience has a marine background, I am efficient at performing all duties required for electrically maintaining an automated control of electrical / mechanical equipment; I understand the principles of automatic mechanisms and their associated electrical control systems.

2. Work Experience - CV/Resume Part 2 [Mandatory]

June 2007 to present time – employed by SMIT – world leader in offshore services, as maintenance electrical engineer on jack up Lisa in rotational system 28 days on with 28 days off. My responsibilities consist of fault finding and complete maintenance of all electrical equipment with the main duties:
● Ensure conformance to company policies, and local and international laws relating to the operation of the jack up and strict compliance with current pollution regulations.
● Ensure requirements concerning regulatory bodies are met in all cases of equipment repair and installation.
● Perform daily inspections and maintenance on electrical and electronic equipment.
● To assume the required regulatory responsibility to exercise effective control and efficient operation of the electrical, technical and electronic aspects of the jack up, under the direction of the Chief Engineer with due regard for the safety of the crew, the jack up and its contents and the protection of the environment.
● Troubleshoot and repair faulty HVAC equipment, electrical and electronic systems, generation and distribution, communication, data acquisition, computers and navigational equipment.
● Troubleshoot and repair faulty electrical and electronic systems in relation to process plant instrumentation and electronics.
● Install, calibrate, and modify electrical and electronic systems and components.
● To provide technical support, domestic and industrial electrical and electronic services to all areas of the rig.
● Conduct planned maintenance on electrical and electronic equipment.

March 1997 to May 2007 – Worldwide voyages on container vessels, with COSTAMARE SHIPPING in a multi-national team for electrical maintenance and repair of container vessels chartered to major companies such Maersk, NYK, MSC, ZIM, Cosco, with the following responsibilities:
• Carry through preventative maintenance on various electrical and mechanical equipment such as generators, transformers, electrical motors, lighting, UPS, batteries, refrigeration and air-conditioning systems, fire and general alarm systems, emergency shut-down systems, electrical protections and controls of engines and auxiliary equipments, auxiliary boilers, monitoring systems, automation systems, instrumentation equipments etc.
• Repair, replace and install various electrical equipments as needed or instructed.
• Diagnose fault, obtain technical support, parts, equipment and tools, initiate and complete repairs and replacements.
• Supervise and commission all the electrical tasks carried out by third parties such electrical contractors and collaborators. Assisted the delivery of new ships from Hyundai Shipyard in Ulsan, Korea: Sealand New York and Sealand Illinois in 2000; Safmarine Antwerp in 2003; Cosco Guangzhou in 2006.
• Conduct survey to ensure that electrical installation in normal and hazardous environment meets the international standards and requirement and satisfy surveyors and classification society rules.
• Apply with no exception all theoretical and practical safety procedures of electrical work and installation in a standard or hazardous environment; ensure that all electrical personnel under my control apply the required safety procedures.
• Implement design changes, make modifications, upgrade or install new equipment as required.
Types of serviced equipments:
• Caterpillar engines, generators and alternators; B&W engines and generators; Sulzer engines; Yanmar engines and generators; Daihatsu engines; Kawasaki thrusters; Detroit engines and generators; Cummins engines and generators; Rolls-Royce Z Drives; Baldor, International Electric, Lima, Magneti-Marelli, VEM and AEG motors and alternators; ZF Mathers and Rexroth Control System for engines and thrusters; Norcontrol Kongsberg and Mitsubishi control systems for engines; Aalborg, Saake, Petrokraft, Vulcano boilers; Sperry, Hamworthy, Quincy compressors and valves; Alstom and Nautronix DP; Square D, General Electric, Terasaki, Cuttler-Hummer, ABB, Perko, Carlisle & Finch, Telemecanique, Siemens and Legrand equipments etc.

My duties as Electrical Engineer covered and the refrigerating system supervision, with the following responsibilities:
• Performing all the duties required for technically and electrically maintaining an operational integrity of all refrigerating equipments and their automated control for holds, on-deck containers, food store and air conditioning.
• Carrying out daily refrigerating plant inspection, ensuring that recorded temperature value is within the specified pre-set range.
• Execute preventative maintenance, repair or replace of refrigerating compressors, evaporators, fans, expansion valves, solenoid valves, filters etc.
• Conduct weekly refrigerant leakage test, resolve problems and refill the system if needed.
• Identify faults, repair or replace various electrical components as circuit breakers, relays, contactors, temperature and pressure sensors, heaters, fan and compressor motors, control and power supply cables, plugs and sockets, data communication modules, modulation valves, level and flow switches, temperature recording devices etc.
• Prepare detailed spare parts list needed for the entire vessel’s refrigerating plant.
Types of serviced equipment:
• Carrier, Thermo King, Sabroe, Seacold, Daikin, Mitsubishi, Copeland etc.

Sep 1991 to Feb 1997 - Worked for Petromar Constanta - the Romanian leader in oil and gas industry, now owned by OMV Group, in a team for electrical maintenance and repair of offshore support vessels fleet as offshore boat marine electrical engineer with the following responsibilities:
• Perform all duties required for electrically maintaining a fully operational supply vessels
• Troubleshoot, repair and maintenance all the electrical equipments as well as a variety of some related installations: electrical power system up to 10 kV, AC generators and controls up to 10KV, AC motors up to 2000kw, air control centers, automatic control of ballast pumps, welding machines, electrical subsystems for lighting and power distribution etc.
• Provide onsite supervision of electricians and trainees; responsible for the supervision, daily job assignments, and on-the-job training of 3 to 5 persons at a time.
• Implement design changes, make modifications, upgrade or install new equipment as required
